@feena-c Roan doesn’t have any siblings and he’s not particularly close with anyone in his extended family. In fact, he is the annoying cousin (he of course thinks of himself as a rebel) :D

The companions are like, "That's why he buys so many nice outfits. Lack of support growing up."

He’s not mad per se, he just got into his rebellious phase as a teenager and never quite grew out of it :D

Also why do I have to meticulously transcribe 100 different spells I don’t need when almost anything can be solved with just 1 fireball I can create with the snap of my fingers, DAD

But he buys tons of fancy clothes because he has no concept of money x)

Okay to add a bit of context before I’m gonna say anything about Roan’s training and childhood x) 

I don’t really know much (nor care much) about “canon” Faerun-verse so let’s imagine an unnamed city somewhere with a big institution in place that provides tutoring for up-and-coming wizards (and other magic adjacent professions). And it has Roan’s family name all over it. You know this thing when rich people donate a lot of money to some university and they like name a building after them.

So from the young age Roan’s parents pushed heavily for him to be *properly* tutored in the ways of the Weave. Roan found that whole ordeal to be incredibly tedious, his teachers dull and their lessons restrictive. Despite all his resistance he did manage to pick up some things, mostly the theory as he still prefers to do things his own way (you don't measure! you just go with the feeling!).
