                 ❛ i’m surprised.❜  

      others had survived, it so seemed.  with the fall of this fragile kingdom, he had some expectation that the soldiers went down with the ship -- all of them. yet, in the deserts of hueco mundo, by random chance, he was fortunate enough to stumble across a familiar face, even if their last encounter was far from savory.  digits curl in pockets, ready to guard himself at a moment’s notice, should grimmjow decide their last battle remained unfinished. 

         nothing to occupy him.  no one to serve.  with his time, now, he had freedom.  freedom to do as he wished, venture where he had not previously done so before.  a vast majority of his time had been spent in the human world, insatiable need for answers driving him.  day in and day out he observed their patters, behaviors -- how they expressed happiness, or relieved rage.  such a wide array of emotion he had yet to comprehend fully.  patience, in his eyes, was more than a virtue ; and however long it would take, he could easily wait.  those who had seen him had numbered fewer than before -- but he still encounters the occasional, gifted human.
