It only took a few minutes from the time Dylan texted Orion to the time that he actually showed up. He tossed his phone aside and looked up at him, already mentally preparing himself for the twenty plus questions that were going to be tossed his way, he was sure of it. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t checking my phone.”

Which wasn’t a total lie, because he hadn’t checked it. He just decided against going in to the reasons why he hadn’t checked it. Dylan lowered his gaze, not needing to look at his boyfriend to know what expression was on his face. “I’m fine, seriously. We just...stayed at his cousin’s last night. We knew we’d have to answer the headmistress if we got back.” Dylan worried his bottom lip, before turning his gaze back, somewhat reluctantly, to meet Orion’s. “I’m fine,” he said again, pretty sure it was more for his benefit at this point. “I promise.”
