I feel so ashamed to be a part of this community that it’s unreal. And unfortunately, while I like to believe that this hasn’t trickled into real life, it has. I used to work at a campus LGBTQ+ cultural center and these exact same sentiments (and worse) were alive and well.

It’s really sad that saying being LGBTQ+ doesn’t make you interesting is considered rainbowphobic (I refuse to use queer, but I also don’t want to type everything out), but saying that we all have to act and sound a certain way isn’t. 

I expected it. It’s funny how they only focus on the title, not the actual post itself.

Gay people are more than just gay? Apparently that’s a terrible thing to say.

“How dare you say that gay people are normal and should have hobbies instead of relying on their sexual orientation!! Homophobe!! Fucking straighties, am I right guys?”

There were so many dedicated blogs about two years ago, and only a handful remain. It’s really sad. It is actually really hard to find a blog that isn’t hateful, self-righteous, or rude. It’s even harder to find a blog like that actually stays on topic, doesn’t post about what shows they like, doesn’t respond to their friends through reblogs for 10+ posts (which is completely unnecessary because we have chat and asks), and doesn’t just copy and paste the same response on every post.

Obviously, I can’t dictate how people run their blogs. But we had like a Renaissance a few years back and it was awesome, and now it’s basically just shitty.
