I think most of the actresses on the show have a better understanding of their characters. Whether is just the book or the show’s character that’s a different thing.

I think Gwen Christie understands her character (book and show) completely. Just the way she talks about Brienne you can tell she maybe feels she has things in common with her. And that’s a great thing to find. Lena Headey gets show!Cersei imo, but I don’t think she knows much about book!Cersei. Of course this due to her not being a book reader. Michelle Fairley hands down knew Cat. And even though I’m not sure she read the books, I think she got both Catelyns right. Sophie Turner has a pretty good idea of who Sansa is, and I like that she defends her character when it comes to misogynistic and sexist comments.  

The boys are not so good when it comes to knowing their characters, or maybe they haven’t expressed it. Except for John Bradley, who has said a few accurate things about his character, though he hasn't had many chances to do so.

Hmm well, I think it would have been believable and she would have been a serious contender among the other serious contenders-nominees for the award. I don’t think she would have won though. Like I said before, the GOT nominations pretty much tried to bring young viewers to the award show, but it’s nice when popularity matches talent, like in Diana Rigg’s case. GOT is a popular show, with a large viewership, that brings viewers excited to see their favourites at the award show, and surely a lot of press. So, nominating actors and the show in general brings that attention, but for most of the nominations, including acting, there was no talent or merit, but just character popularity and trying to secure some good ratings. Fairley's nomination wouldn’t have brought the award for the show, but it would have been a serious and believable nomination. I think Rigg had more chances to win than Fairley (if she had been nominated).

It's hard to answer this question when I haven't watched all the other performances nominated, especially the one of the actress who actually won. Do I think Fairley had enough talent and a great performance to compete? Yes, I do. Do I think she could have won? I don't know. I think her performance would have gone neck to neck with Christine Baranski's (The Good Wife), and it was easily above Morena Baccarin's (Homeland). But I don't think it could have upstaged Maggie Smith's. About Christina Hendricks' and Anna Gunn's, I can't say much or compare the situation, because I don't watch Breaking Bad, and I haven't regularly watched Mad Men in a long time.

No, that's not me. I don't post or comment on westeros.org. Never been part of that comm, since I seriously don't like a lot of things they say. I do however, read a lot from their forums. They have interesting theories about book canon. And I'm definitely intrigued about people's opinions on that.

About Michelle being the best actress of the show. Well I can say that I do consider her one of the best actresses. But not THE best actress. Idk, I rather not make that classification. I do have a list though, about the best actors on the show, and I do not dare to choose one among them, cause I find them all talented, and skilled, able to play different characters. But each of them have talent to play certain kind of roles, therefore I can't make comparisons. They are all good, and I leave it at that. (The list in on *personal favourites tag).

Agree in both cases. And probably that’s where the list ends. In a different range, would add Tobias Menzies, even though his character hasn’t changed that much, but the relationships he’s got have. And Iain Glen whose material sometimes seems reduced compared to some events in which his character had big importance, and they were not showed in this season.

I agree. But I don’t know how to feel about the nomination. I know they just submit the actors' names with one episode as reference. But sometimes that feels a little bit unfair to me. Though yes, it is the way it's done. I think her involvemnent in this season has been too reduced, that's why I say this. But it only takes one episode for them, which ok, then yes, I definitely think she deserves a nom, and probably a win. Though that depends on who's in the category as well.

And if we take in consideration Cat's monologue early this season, that's another proof she deserves the nomination.

I hope she gets one, given the rules of the game here. She gave an outstanding performance, and of all this season, I'm not afraid to say, she was the best actress. Definitely set the bar pretty high for future seasons.

Really? Omg, that really changes things. I mean, either way I found her amazing in this episode, but knowing that makes it extra special. 

Agreed in your last sentence. Their performances definitely leave you with something afterwards. Some others do good, but they don’t have that extra something special. I think they do, the way Diana Rigg does. Definitely worth of more recognition.
