King Uther has had a rough week, and so he drunkenly decides to take a 2 day holiday. Arthur is thrilled at his opportunity to temporarily become King. That is until Uther announces that Merlin will have to act as King too.

In which two idiots are in love, and learn about what it takes to be a noble and honest leader.

Do I think Uther is OOC in this? Maybe. Do I love this fic with all of my heart? Absolutely. The magic reveal is so spot on.

Arthur’s been sent to negotiate a trade treaty with Ergyng, a kingdom where magic is perfectly legal. He’s been on diplomatic missions before, but never one that made him feel like he’d made a wrong turn and left reality behind. With Uther desperate enough to even consider such a treaty, much less send his son into a kingdom where sorcery is openly practiced, their Queen could ask for anything vaguely reasonable and Arthur would have to grant it. So why is she only interested in Merlin?

Queen Rhea calling Merlin Lord Emrys and him revealing the prophecy to Arthur is so what I wanted to see in the show.

One day the kingdom of Camelot receives a message that Cenred, the King of Essetir, died of an illness. The king and his son decide to invite the new king to Camelot, not knowing that it wouldn't be Cenred's son Mordred, but his secret, and gorgeous, husband Merlin instead, who Arthur almost instantly falls in love with. Merlin however, held quite a few secrets which were yet to be uncovered, regarding his marriage with Cenred, his mental stability, his magical abilities and whole of Essetir.

I really love how they wrote Merlin's psyche and the Magic Reveal was such a lovely one.

True Colours Are Beautiful Like a Rainbow, by Emrys MK (Mature)

Arthur, already irritated because he has somehow acquired a strange mark on his chest, is less than pleased when his father sends him to meet with an elf-prince. So it’s probably a good thing he does not know that he has been summoned under false pretenses that have very little to do with peace treaties and everything to do with the strange mark on his chest.
