Also table salt and smoked salt with Ace because Iām all of a sudden very intrigued with this particular ship even though I know nothing of the sourceš
*bounces of the MCFREAKIN WALLS* hi hi yes even if you donāt know anything about one piece thatās okay! One Piece is a massive sandbox where almost anything can happen, and Ace and Honyo are very good at getting lost in that sandbox outside of the main storyline XD
table salt - what is your favorite way to spend time with your f/o?
Hmm, okay so pre-time skip then these two are on a mission to hunt down Blackbeard, so a majority of their time spent together is just traveling. But I think that, when the Grand Line isnāt trying to kill them with its insane weather, and as the day is dying down, they really just enjoy lounging around in Honyoās boat talking. Honyo gets out her journal and is writing up letters that sheāll never send, and Ace will be telling stories about places heās been, things heās seen, things he wants to share with her.Ā
During the time skip they have to stay way under the radar, because Aceās origin is now no longer a secret + the whole world thinks that theyāre both dead and they canāt compromise that cover. Theyāre taken in by the people of an island that work as a sort of halfway point for the revolutionary army, and there theyāre trained by an ex marine and his husband in both enhancing their devil fruit and haki abilities. (The sandbox gets so deep here because I have So. Many. Thoughts. On devil fruits and haki.) So their main way of spending time together becomes sparring and, well, you know how fun that trope can get ;)
As for post time skip, well, I havenāt really thought too much about that. Mostly in part because Iām stillĀ stuck on the Marineford arc so itās not like I know a whole lot about the arcs that follow it anyway.Ā
smoked salt - how long have you been with your f/o? was it love at first sight, or did it take you a while to fall for them? how about their side: love at first sight for them, or a bit longer?
irl? Iāve shipped with Ace since 2020 and at first I wasnāt convinced because I didnāt care much for the art style of OP at the time, but then I made the mistake of looking up fanart and *nervous chuckle* I was in dangerĀ
As for Honyo... Hereās a snippet from chapter one:
There was something to be said about people that attracted light, Honyo thought then. They were wild, blazing beingsā As if the sun had forged their souls with itself so that they would always burn brightly. They were frightening. Dangerous. Get too close and you would burn yourself. But more than anything, they were an adventure. Honyo could feel herself getting swept up into this strange girlās pace and it set her mind racing.Ā
Now, the thing is, in this paragraph Honyo is mainly referring to the girl that she just met, Emiri, who goes on to become her best friend (qpr as of right now though it gets highly implied that they could have been more than that). But it also doubles as foreshadowing. Part of it is to subtly touch upon a thing called Conqueror's Haki, also known as Kingās Haki, a type of willpower that can lead people on to rule the world. Another part is to later reference how sheāll view Ace.
The problem, though, is that by the time Honyo meets Ace, sheāll still very much be in the midst of the grieving process. And Ace... Ace reminds her of Emiri a bit too much at times that itās hard for her to be around him even though he has that light about him that draws her in.Ā
After some time apart where sheās worked on her grief some, then she rejoins up with Ace with the intent to help him hunt down Blackbeard, and Ace helps her through more of her grief while she in turn manages to help him with his own.Ā
And itās after an incident where Ace gets hurt that she realizes that sheās already attached and is gone too deeply to go back. And in this same incident then Honyo was shot prior and Ace, who had only been hovering on the surface of a crush, falls into the rabbit hole head over heels.Ā
