I’m only half-watching this episode, since I turned it on for background noise while studying and since my family is coming over tomorrow already to watch it together, but oh my gosh WHAT IS LOGIC ON THIS SHOW ANYMORE??
So basically Arya is threatening Sansa with the letter she was forced to write by the Lannisters to Rob to swear fealty to King Joffrey, because she believes Sansa killed their father and she believes Sansa wants to betray Jon. Suuuuuuure, because (1) Arya must have seen Sansa kicking and screaming and crying when Joffrey gave the order to execute Ned and (2) Arya says she’d never betray their family, but if she’s going to make the Northern Lords turn on Sansa, then they’re going to turn on Winterfell thereby turning on Jon, so in the end she’d be the one would betray her family instead.
Then Suicide Squad are fighting a bunch of wights, and the moment Jon kills the General with his Valerian sword, they all die but one? BUT ONE? WHY IS THAT ONE STILL ALIVE? WTF? I can’t stop laughing at that.Â
Also WHAT IS TIME ON THIS SHOW?? Idk how long the Suicide Squad have been wandering around but it’s laughable to think that (1) Gendry running back to Eastwatch + (2) Writing a letter + (3) Sending said letter to Dany aaaaaall the way back to Dragonstone via a raven (because for the entire course of this show communication has been done by ravens and I doubt they have a Raven 747) + (4) Dany flying all the way beyond the wall and even finding their exact location, all happens in the timespan before the Hound acts all idiotic by throwing rocks (like wtf was that even?).
I cannot stop laughing at how predictable the expendability of those extra’s in the Suicide Squad are. I guess they’re all dead already?Â
The Night King is not so far away from Drogon, who is sitting on a rock, like “easy target over here yo”, but he throws a magic spear at Viserion who is flying further away??Â
WTF. I CANNOT. WITH. THIS. NONSENSE.
And don’t even get me started on this rushed fuckery that is the Jon + Danerys are true love. I had this conversation before with a friend of mine, but television is still visual storytelling. We saw nothing, absolutely nothing of this “staring longingly” of Jon towards Dany. There was absolutely no visual indication that Jon has developed such strong feelings towards, if nothing else he has always looked scared of her, scared of angering her by saying the wrong tell (re: “Beautiful isn’t the word I’d use” - mad stare - gulps before hesitantly adding “....but they are.”) Instead they had to use Davos and Tyrion to tell the audience that Jon has been “staring at her good heart.” Dialogue is a way to help move the story, the development, the plot along. But when it solely relies on the dialogue to convey the message, then you know something went wrong. Sorry to say.
ALSO WTF AT JON SUDDENLY BENDING THE KNEE? WHO’S BETRAYING WHO NOW, HUH ARYA?Â
AND ALSO WTF AT BENJEN RANDOMLY POPPING UP (first appearance since the s6 final) TO SAVE JON AND TO ONLY DIE THREE SECONDS LATER (apparently also the last appearance since the s6 final)? Â
Getting back off tumblr now to continue studying.Â
I can’t believe I even wasted time to write this rant. But I did, so I am going to post it.
I’m really dreading the season finale, because this season has been so awful. I didn’t think they could do worse than S5, but they sure proved me wrong.
A final note: What is up with Arya’s fixation on Sansa’s prettiness? Really, all S7 long it’s been “pretty things”, “pretty hair”, “pretty dresses”, “pretty handwriting”. You know, first of, synonyms for the word pretty do exist. And second, why the fixation on it? Arya never cared about that stuff? Or is it because Hot Pie called her pretty?Â
