I dont understand. I cant use a dark bg on a brown skin character because it makes them look light? That isnt anyones fault that we perceive colors in dumb ways when they r next a different value of color or whatever.

its just an art tip. take it or leave it.. all i can do is explain color theory and relativity to you. if you decide to be obtuse about it that's your problem lol

#its not like i'm making it up either like that is actual color theory. the same content that is taught at tertiary art and design schools #if you really want advice then you can dm me asking how to make a dark bg work for your specific issue but you're clearly asking in bad fait #*faith #and anyway the root of the issue is abt addressing why a character can be whitewashed despite having the hexcode.. its literally jus #*just about understanding color relativity #how dark is the characters skin relative to the rest of the piece.. is the brightest white only barely lighter than the skin? etc
