Cody Skipton has dragged her way through life armed with nothing but a thus far infallible charm, a determination that would make any other person’s head spin, and a plastic dinosaur trinket she had never gone without a day in her life. Her life had been far from terrible—she could have had it worse, just as she could have had better—but through a series of mistakes and mishaps she preferred not to dwell on, Cody had wound up smack dab in the middle of Isla Nublar. Animal behaviorist  is the title they gave her when they gave her the job of her dreams. Dead was what they called her after she plummeted practically headfirst into a pit of velociraptors. Fucking insane is what they landed on at last, after she crawled through the mud and grime of the enclosure—ankle broken in at least three places and burning with pain—and into safety while the jaws of the raptors snapped hungrily at her heels.  Owen Grady just called her Skippy, though.
