Pavel Guan, born Guan Jian-Ying is the third child in a family of five. He grew up in Chanqingxian a rural town in Hunan Provence. In the typical way, farming. It was in his final year in middle where upon find his elder sister’s fashion magazine sat on the living room table. He at the time had his sketching pad with him. He’d taken to the stables to sketch a horse he’d recently finished training. He flipped through the magazine. hand absently sketching messy doodles of the dress the women within the glossy pages wore.
It was his younger sister Xian-Qian how during in his first year of high school who’d found a sketch book of his half full of finely sketches of dresses, skirts, necklaces and coats. She told her brother that she’d down it to her middle school art teacher. Jian-YIng in fact wasn’t happy at all that the teacher who infact had taught him, but in English had sent it off to a big city. Huaihua.
What he’d also had no clue about was that that teacher had send photos that Xian-Qian had taken with their father’s old camera. How ever it infact wasn’t until the next school year when he was sent a letter. from Huaihua Fashion house. requesting an interview as their scouts had seen potential in his looks as a new young model.
This was compounded as he was approached by an agent from that same agency about two months before he turned seventeen. They insisted his unique and rusting look would appeal to the city living population. He didn’t look as young as he was. toned tall with a deep tan due to years of being in the sun,
It took weeks to talk his dad around who’d became desperate to keep his eldest son since the passing of his wife during childbirth with Ying-Fang the youngest child.
Jian Ying’s father finally let go to his eldest son with the promise that this modeling would alleviate the struggling families financial issues. Jian-Ying was hell bend to the promise of moving his family to Changsha the provincial capital of Hunan. A modest size western styled house was his goal for his modeling income to afford his family a decent quality of life.
He moved to Huaihua, amazing buy the bustle and noise of he city. He’d come in the monsoon season so when he’d arrive at the agency build he’d been soaked through with the rain. His verbal ability in Russian took a long while to develop however he was able to read Cyrillic with in the first few months in Russia. so he could navigate well without needing to talk to locals. Luckily he’d learnt English from elementary school in China and that second a common second language in most big Russian cites. As he found in his second year in Russia as he was catwalk model in Moscow Fashion week.
After a year and a half in Vladivostok he was transferred to the Agencies St Petersburg branch. Soon enough his time in Russia came along after two years in St Petersburg. His Agency bought out by and became a subsidiary of a Spanish fashion company after three years he was once again moved. In his final move to Valencia, Spain.
