Hello! So, I just got finished watching the newest episode of GOT and you seem extremely well known in the books, and I've read them but its been awhile so its a little fuzzy, I was wondering about the scene with Cersei being held prisoner by the High Sparrow: did they ever physically hurt her in the books? I don't ever remember them hitting her or refusing her food/water. If it didn't happen in the books, do you think it's just the show runners perpetuating more unnecessary abuse?
Iām putting this under a Read more because it got really long. And Iām sorry that it took me so long to answer this one!
FINALE SPOILERZZZZ so I guess this kinda shoots my "Shae=Taena" theory right in the heart, doesn't it? :-/ On the one hand I'm sad b/c SHAE she was so great and I liked her actress a lot, but on the other hand I'm kind of excited to see who they get for Taena and what she brings to the part. (Although I've heard some people theorize that Ellaria=Taena, and that she'll be sticking around KL as a connection b/w Dorne and the Lannisters, so maybe there's that.)
Hi!
Well yeah, sorry. Shae was great, I liked the changes around the character, and how that allowed to expand her storyline. It was a good change.
I actually wouldnāt mind if Ellaria gets to stick around, it would be a good solution, and you know they are going to have someone taking the place of Taena (if they donāt cast someone as Taena), thereās too much they can profit from the scenes between her and Cersei. So, yeah, that would actually be a good solution, and a good way to avoid introducing another secondary character.
Thanks!
don't you think diane kruger would've made a better cersei
Hi anon!
Not at all. Iām not a fan of Lenaās acting, but Diane is not a good actress either. In terms of looks, both fit the role, but in terms of acting neither is a better choice than the other.
Thanks!
Are you at all familiar with Elizabeth Mitchell? She's been a popular fancasting choice for Cersei in some circles. Just curious as to what you think of her acting in general as well as of the idea of her playing Cersei.
Hi!
Had to google her name to be perfectly honest. I would never cast her to play a character like Cersei. I donāt see her playing a character in medieval settings, or even having that regal look for it. Thatās basically a look thing. I donāt think she fits the role in that sense. Acting wise, I barely remember her work in Lost and House to say much. But for what Iāve actually watched she strikes me as an average actress. Thereās no bad acting I can recall; I think sheās fine. I seriously donāt know if from an acting point of view, strictly speaking, it would have worked. I donāt know much about her career to honestly give an opinion on that matter. Between her and Headey, I still prefer Headey. Even though I think Elizabeth is a better actress -in general terms- than Lena.
Thanks! Sorry I canāt say much.

Lena Headey as Lyanna Stark
I keep thinking how lena headey as a brunette would have been a great casting choice for Lyanna Stark because she gives me those wild vibes. I picture cersei as an older evan rachel wood. do you agree with me? also great tumblr looking forward to your reviews for season 4!
Younger Lena? You are setting this in the tourney, right? Hmm, I don't see it, sorry. I'm fine with the look, she does fit the description of the character a bit, but I think Lena is a little rougher in the sense of her mannerisms and body language to play Lyanna. I picture Lyanna a little more softer than that, but not for that less rebellious. If that makes any sense.
I see Hayley Atwell as Lyanna. She's definitely a northerner, I think. Either as Lyanna, or as a Mormont. Perhaps Dacey.
Thanks!
Hello! I'm curious, why do you consider Cersei to be one of the best players? She was a complete disaster on AFFC, and even before that, she was not extremely smart or manipulative.
Hi!
AFFC- ADWD SPOILERS
I think I could go into a rant about it and still wouldnāt make sense to you, simply because we feel different about her. I mean her involvement in the following situations pretty much says it all: keeping Sansa in KL as a hostage; Tyrionās trial; her connection with Qyburn; killing Robertās bastards; keeping secret a relationship with her brother and having 3 children with him passing them as the Kingās; arranging the hunting accident that killed Robert; using her cousin; imprisoning Ned and naming herself Queen Regent; planning to send Ned to the NW so he wouldnāt be a problem, but at the same time not giving the North an excuse to rebel against the Crown; putting Tywin on her side against Tyrion while he was injured, removing him from his place of power; naming herself Queen Regent during Tommenās reign. Of course many of her plans backfired on her, but that doesnāt mean she didnāt have good plans and execution. Sheās done a lot, good or bad, and even awful, but she has stayed in the game for long, and even longer than people with more power or wits than her. She didnāt just survive, she was quite proactive, and tried to made sure she and her own would be safe and secured.
Surely as other characters, she has had her downfalls, but remains in the game and even after the penance walk, sheās still thinking and planning her next move. I donāt excuse Cersei for the things sheās done, or plans that backfired on her, I just simply think she has done a lot of things that merit her title as a good player. Surely Varys (a really good one, if not the best) has seen her plans as an inconvenience or at least planned on his own to win advantage.
Of course she was in a better situation and played better the game before than now, but hmm, I still see her doing a lot and bothering many people in WoW.
E.T.A: manipulation is Cersei's game in my honest opinion.
Thanks, and agree to disagree I guess.
What do you think about the way Cersei/Tyrion relationship was showed in session 3? I was personally pretty annoyed. Cersei who goes to Tyrion to told him all her plans or Cersei who shows Tyrion how bad she feels about for example her being married again? WTF? In book i had feeling that they were trying to hide their feeling and thoughts from each other, show how cool they are and playing games of guess how the other one react inside? Btw. Your are making awesome work here.
Hi!
Iām definitely not happy with the changes they made in their relationship. I think the tension between them in the books made a lot more sense, and it showed how smart they are on their own, and how they played their cards in the game. And it also would have explained and made a lot more sense in season 4, and with SPOILERS Tyrionās trial, and to further Cerseiās story. The dynamics of how one gets ahead when the other one is down, is probably the best part of their relationship, and the show doesnāt convey that well. Basically it feels like the writers donāt know how to write the subtleties in their stories, their reactions and feelings towards the situations they are immersed in. But we already knew they are not into subtleties: either they exaggerate certain things, or they donāt show them at all. With this Iām trying to say that, you can show Cerseiās position as sheās forced to go through another forced marriage, without she interacting with the one person she doesnāt trust or doesnāt want to give the leverage to, since she considers him a rival or threat.
Will see how this turns out in season 4.
Thanks!
