what coping methods ( healthy or unhealthy ) did your muse learn during their childhood? (for any of your children who had a rough childhood, from the rough childhood q's meme)

(i have a shit ton of traumatized kids, so here's an answer for a few of them since i couldn't pick just one)
casper uses avoidance. he dyes his hair, he keeps his attention on anything that requires thinking, he flicks a ponytailer against his wrist. all of this so he doesn't have to face his trauma.
hailey is all about routine. most of her r o u g h childhood comes from her brief stints of homelessness. since she was too focused on survival she didn't get a bunch of stability. now, routines help her by establishing this constant stability.
orion blocks things out. he will refute things, even if said refusal contradicts things he has said before. also: anger. lots of anger. do not point out his contradictions or something that proves him wrong. he will throw hands.
wendall, as stated in my first ever wendall post, was left without food for days if he spoke out of turn. as a result, wendall turned to maladaptive daydreaming. don't have anyone to talk to? make up some friends who will never hurt and / or leave you.
