"i wonder if he’s okay,”
it wasn’t too odd to not see yien on the way home; despite their current living situations -- the fact that they only lived a few floors from each other and that they practically saw each other every other hour due to the close working quarters of many of the trainees in royal -- it had more or less felt odd not seeing him on the way home. even if it was less likely they’d take the same bus home, ( did he even take the bus? ) whatever the reason, jihyun felt somewhat ( not exactly, not really ) obligated to check up on him. after their last talk, things had felt more personal, a shift in what she knew before, and what she knew now, had made her more at ease, but all the more anxious about him.
it was what brought her to exit from the elevators, sparse just a few floors from her own, and knocking on an unsuspecting door. “hey, yien?” an explanation of why he had just left work so suddenly not likely needed, a reply, on the other hand, would be all the more helpful. at least -- to ease whatever friendly assumptions had become to warp her mind and cause her to worry over him. odd enough, she had always thought that he’d be the last person to worry about -- obviously, that was not the case today. “-- you okay?”
