the walgreens workers sub has confirmed for me that not only are walgreens workers seemingly significantly more jaded than your average cashier, but also that walgreens customers are across the board the most brain dead people in existence

of course you're right, they have us the iconic love love peace peace and all however. i think northern countries like sweden rely more on the spectacle aspect of eurovision shows rather than showcasing their own culture. obviously they have a higher budget and can produce an impressive show. a country like italy that cannot afford to do that will probably take us down a more nostalgic path with all the stereotypes (ya know, food, opera, colosseum etc.) that i would definitely eat up. also, not to be that person but i do love italian culture and aesthetic and it would be closer to my culture as well.
