I don't know what to say about this.
I have seen the comparison about the military health costs vs transgender health costs and the viagra vs transgender costs. And it didn't really bug me too much?
IDK, maybe its that I almost never have money so I think that squabbling over it is SO fucking petty. I have always kinda thought that America would HAVE to catch up with the insurance, maternity leave, education... bc THE WHOLE WORLD IS SHAMING AMERICA OH NO!!!!1!!
The fact that people from a technical field, people from MY technical field, are calling out the POTUS about this, is blowing my mind. I have seen people leave graffiti on a professor's door (they had especially wanted international students to feel welcome to approach them, other students graffitied "#MAGA" more than once on the sign). I have heard students in classrooms being racist and misogynist. I have sat through a class where a professor struggled through lecture because they were interrupted multiple times about the validity of the information they were presenting because of on their gender. I have been in that professors shoes myself, teaching students that don't believe I know what I'm talking about even though I AM THE T.A.
I don't say that shit because I want sympathy. I say that shit to exemplify the close-minded people in my field. You could say "Manda, that's only really young college kids!!" Well guess what, I have seen some pretty old mofos in my classes and I have taught some of them. Let me tell you, they are just as bad. Probably worse, since ya know, they lived their life that whole time, being awful as hell.
I don't often comment on this topic because I don't want to say the wrong thing or make the issue about me, because its not. Its sooooooo not.
If yall think that <<dudes>> should be able to get their dicks up but that transgender people are too expensive, gtfo. If yall think that there is something "wrong" with transgender people, gtfo. I don't have time in my life for you anymore, because you are pretty gross tbh. It looks like all the dudes that are popular for creating all the social media and technology you consume are way ahead of you in terms of humanity, and from what I can tell, that is pretty fuckin awful.
