She pressed her lips into a firm line at his comment, "Well, I suppose I would rather hear 'at least one' than a certain 'no survivors.' Let's keep hope."
Essa trailed along beside him, keeping a close eye out for any signs of the raiders or assailants who could have done this. Her pace was quick and she was eager to see what could be done to help any who remained.
As they approached, she reached out with the Force again, sensing for life in the village.
Sure enough, she found some and the question from her companion confirmed her suspicions.
"Yes. There are several, but they're hanging in the balance. We need to move quickly."
The presence of the villagers within the Force felt weak and flighty, flickering like the flame of a candle in a gentle summer breeze.
Without another word, Essa broke into a sprint, closing the distance between the two Jedi and the village. It was a risky choice, as they still didn't know what had caused this and if there was a still a threat, but she wanted to ensure that as many people could make it out as possible.
