blind date.
compact in hand, saerok applies a coat of lip gloss - puckering her lips in the reflection. she shuts the compact and slips it into her bag. she’d arrived a little too early for the date and decided to take refuge from the heat at a small cafe next door. her hands drum against the table as she sips from her water.
she’s nervous, though she’s not sure why. this isn’t even technically her date. she thinks back to the conversation she’d had with her friend soohyun.
“someone set this blind date up for me but... i just don’t think i can do it, saerok! it’s totally not my style, but i’d feel bad for not showing up. do you think... do you think you could go for me?”
it didn’t seem like a bad idea at the time; saerok was always willing to help her friends no matter what. and it was just a blind date, most of them didn’t go past the first outing anyway. but as she’s making her way inside the arcade, she can’t shake the nagging feeling of guilt that’s slowly building in her stomach. she felt bad that she was just going on this date just for it to inevitably go nowhere. it felt unfair to the person she was meeting with.
she reads the physical description sent to her by soohyun; dark hair, 171cm, slim build.
saerok looks up from her phone and watches a couple people walk past her, but almost all of them are with another person, or don’t fit the description. she finally notices one guy who comes in by himself and seems to be looking around for someone as well. she walks up cautiously and gently touches his shoulder, “hi... kikwang? it’s me, uh, soohyun.” she smiles.
