Anyway, here’s the point:
A lot of systems we’ve got going on are terrible and then some. That’s true. There’s places and cultures with context I don’t have, and that should be left to the people in them, but this is true in places where I totally have it plenty enough.
That should be talked about, that should be called out, that’s not going away now or anytime soon.
But at the moment, this is the systems that we have.
So if there’s a system, and it protects born-cleans, and it does not protect ex-reds, that’s a problem. And if there’s a system and it’s applied the same or extra to protect ex-reds, that is good and to be praised. Because ex-reds ought to be getting that protection, and ought to be getting the mindset that comes out of (and often fucking well aren’t and we all know it), and the systems we have is what exists for it to be given with.
Is it good that this is the systems we have? Fuck no. But having them is the part to be criticized and called out. And protection of ex-reds is the part to be recognized and praised.
