     he hears whimpering, followed by soft blubbering. in a heartbeat, caleb is      scouring the premises, searching for the source of the crying. not long after      his search has begun does he find hope, hugging her knees and pinned       against a wall. caleb rushes to her side, concern filling every particle of his      body. 

     caleb danced around the kitchen, popular music beating through the      speakers as he worked on his gingerbread house. this was one of his      favourite parts of christmastime, but was shocked when he looked up      to find cooper eating a few of his decorative candies. 

     all he wanted was a bagel. 

     he’d been craving one of those cinnamon ones from panera bread, and he      would have done anything to get one. finally, halfway through his work day,      he decided to screw work and go get one of those delicious, sugary treats.      the universe must have aligned things perfectly, because when he walked      into the restaurant, he couldn’t believe his eyes. 

     was that who he thought it was? there wan no way that was smolbeanrain      from youtube. that’s impossible. but with a closer look, the boy confirmed       that, yes, it was indeed rain. 

     words cannot express his excitement. he’s been listening to dan’s music for      years — ever since his final year of secondary school. he’d gotten the tickets      for his twenty-first birthday present, and had been looking forward to the date       ever since he recieved the gift. now, here he was, standing so close to the       stage that he could have touched it, if it wasn’t for the barrier. as excited as       he was for the show to start, he was also quite uncomfortable with the fans       on either side of him squished in tight, making it difficult for him to breathe.

     he’s cringing beyond belief now. the boy feels so awful for elbowing his new      cuddle buddy in the eye — but what’s cooper to expect with someone as      tall as him? the six-foot tall giant pushed his body away from the smaller boy      so he could no longer harm him. 

they say before you start a war, you’d better know what you’re fighting for. well, babe, you’re all that i adore. if love is what you need, a soldier i will be.                              i’m an angel with a shotgun. 

     “oh, i’m sorry,” caleb yelps, bringing his hands up to cover his mouth in       shock. surely he didn’t mean to touch her bum, let alone startle her in       such a violent manner. he brings his hands back down to his sides, but      allows one to rest lightly on her shoulder. carefully, he explains, “i’m sorry,      i was trying to sneak by. i guess my hand got caught or something . . . “
