Anon said: Meta or write about how Nathaniel found his faith?? Was it in the family or self discovered? Did it connect to his Ability directly? Meta meme // Accepting!
I feel like this was something that’s ALWAYS been in his life, in my eyes, Nate’s family was from the INCREDIBLY deep south (We’re talking bible belt south- Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Oklahoma. So he could be from one of these states.) So he’s been exposed to this all his life, not a wonder he found a calling in being a pastor- but there were times he had questioned all of it, as all young kids do when they’re maturing even talking to his parents about it. It’s a matter of perspective but considering, like I said, he’s always been around it I don’t think his mind would have been swayed either way. Not to mention I really think his family was a TAD conservative- granted he’s far more relaxed than them- that dedication to his faith follows him even in the guild. Just a way to at LEAST keep a hold of it in that ever growing pool of chaos that IS the guild-- (Even if Margaret makes him want to use the lord’s name in vain sometimes.)
As for his ability being directly connecting to it? Absolutely not, I don’t even think he told his family about his ability so he just remained silent about it for a while until he was old enough to move out- a sort of things left unsaid thing considering they probably WOULD have freaked and claimed he was possessed by the devil. Hell, that’s what HE thought when it first activated but he’s been using it sparingly since then since it’s connected to his blood. But if you asked him about it now he would say it’s a gift from an angel, it’s nothing much but he does believe that he panicked over nothing in the past when his ability manifested- just that he was entrusted with something that can assist him in his goals.
