like I don't even mind that he was a shitty person, I don't care that the way that he deals with rejection is violent and reckless and potentially murderous. if he wasn't that way then I doubt I would've been able to connect with him on the level that I have. I'm not saying that he's right but what I am saying is that this "shittiness" of his character is actually quite essential to representation of people from violent homes or with mental illnesses that oft cause people to behave irrationally and well, violently. I understand what he did wasn't right that but I don't like how he was treated in the book and afterwards (or lack thereof). I don't like that he was killed off for what felt like shock value. I don't like that in the next book everything he had done equated to basically nothing. I don't like that the gray man gets this attention from everybody else including the author when his archetype is so prominent in literally every form of media (do not get me started on him, I literally am so tired of characters like him from years and years of playing video games). I'm sick and tired of middle age white guy who have angsty backgrounds and tons of man pain or issues with their families that also happen to be tactically knowledgable and make their living by killing, being redeemed. like fuck gray man and fuck m*ggie
