3. What does their safe space look like?
Someplace cramped, preferably situated somewhere high up, though the latter is not a necessary requirement. As long as he can curl up safely somewhere, feeling a sturdy wall behind his back and something to keep him hidden from the world at his sides, he’ll be feeling safe and secure. If applicable, add a blanket on top, a couple pillows here and there... viola! A perfect little pillow fort~
10. What kind of jokes make them laugh?
Anything that is not outright malicious, really. He does love watch Luffy’s and Usopp’s shenanigans, often joining in on them, absolutely having a blast hanging out with them, oftentimes ending up laughing so much his stomach hurts and he’s entirely out of breath~
16. What do they look for in a friend? A love interest?
Just someone who is willing to be there for him, no matter what, to accept him the way he is and just... be his friend/significant other, really. He has not had many friends throughout his life, so his standards are like... really really low, honestly.
If you’re nice to him he will love you. It’s as easy as that.
42. Does your character celebrate their birthday? If not, why?
While there is no particular negative connotation he holds in regards to his birthday, Hugo rarely finds himself thinking of the date at all. He WILL outright forget his own birthday, unless a loved one of his reminds him. Back in Skypiea, this would have been his mother’s role, while after Enel’s defeat, his crew takes over this particular duty.
Careful though! He will most likely cry, when you remind him of the special day, especially if you’ve bothered to get him a present of sorts. It will be happy tears, though.
