❄️
Wandering the city mindlessly hadn’t been in Nat’s plan for the night. Getting off work early should’ve meant a cozy evening but she just couldn’t turn her mind off. It’d been building for a few days now, the thick pressure in her head as the cold blew through the city. It wasn’t all that unusual for her to lose track of time these days. December was her grounding stone but it also brought too many emotions back that she hadn’t been dealing with well. Thinking about all the blessings in her life didn’t come without a few extra costs. To be immortal was to love and lose.
She didn’t even feel the cold as she paced up and down the strip a few blocks from her apartment. Despite her thin sweater and jeans, she was suffocating.
