CLOSED STARTER for @wayhaught1x1
‘holy shit, i’m going to earth’. that was the one and only coherent thought raven could make out among everything else racing through her mind as she buckled herself into her seat on the drop ship. of course she had a million questions about earth and how they would even survive down there... if they could survive down there. but if she kept thinking about that too much, she’d drive herself mad with worry and anxiety. she tried to focus on the positives. at least she wasn’t going to be executed for going on an unauthorized spacewalk and wasting some of the limited oxygen they had on the ark. at least she’d get to see what earth was like and experience it first hand. at least she wasn’t really leaving anything or anyone behind... well, she was leaving one person behind. clarke. her heart ached at the thought of her best friend. if there had ever been a positive constant in raven’s life, it was clarke. her home life had never been an ideal situation, to put it lightly. but her saving grace was the golden-haired girl who lived next to her, who had been paying enough attention to her to have some idea of what was going on. she was kind enough to share her rations with her, get a smile out of her on her worst days, and be her beacon of light in her otherwise dark world. ‘i wish she were here with me.’ the thought crossed her mind, but only for a brief second before she was disgusted with herself. for all she knew, she was about to face certain death. something she would never ever wish upon clarke.
she was so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she missed the fact that someone had taken the seat next to her. turning her head to look at which unlucky bastard would be her companion for the ride, she was greeted with a flash of blonde. she felt her heart immediately drop. “clarke!? what the hell?” she all but hissed, eyes widening as she stared at her in disbelief. this had to be a mistake. there was no way clarke would ever do anything to get herself in trouble, let alone enough trouble to land herself a spot on this damn ship. unless... “you didn’t,” her voice was barely above a whisper. “please tell me i’m wrong and you didn’t do something stupid in order to come with me,” she was reeling. clarke had always gone to great lengths to protect her, to take care of her, but this... this was just idiotic. closing her eyes, she took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself down. it did fuck all. she lifted her hand up to rub her temple. “abby’s going to fucking kill me if earth doesn’t,” she muttered.
