Sunburst by Aaron Von Hagen Via Flickr: A little sunburst on the sands of Sossusvlei! Try as it might, the cloud cover was just too strong for the sun to break through that morning. It did clear up later on, and it got HOT!
Deadvlei by Aaron Von Hagen Via Flickr: I couldn't help but wonder how long that piece of wood had been sitting in that exact position when I walked up to it. The cracked ground betrayed no footprints, and without any water to reset the clay, I'd like to think it had been there for a long time. Hopefully it is still there right now. The top o fthe sand dune in the background is the peak of Big Daddy, the +325 meter dune we just descended from.
