Wandering too far from the base was never a good idea. With his illness, who knew what could happen but his treatment session had only been finished earlier that morning so he should be fine. Roaming the forest, following small streams, he would eventually end up on the familiar lake. It was home to many creatures, most of those regular animals but it made him wonder what else was lurking in the depths and the treelines. Were there beings from other worlds, from far outer space? His youthful mind would wander to all those places while taking a seat along the water side.
While lost in thoughts, he didn’t notice the ristling in the bushes a few meters behind him.
