The season finale of Single Parents asked the one big question; will Angie and Will admit their feelings for one another? Here's a recap!

Picking up seconds from last week's episode, Will and Angie are freaking out about the wild and crazy night they had just had. As soon as they try to figure out what had happened; Miggy, Poppy, Doug, and their kids show up to help pack up. And as soon as Derek shows up, Angie takes Poppy in the other room and tells her what had happened and couldn't remember who cuddled who first. While Will tells Doug and Miggy about his feelings for Angie and that he might have been the one who cuddled. 

Poppy and Doug help make Angie and Will's relationship happen, but Derek makes Will stop it all after thanking him for helping out with Angie and Graham. But while Angie was packing in her room; she sees Will's laptop of a slide show of her and Will with the song "100 Years." Will tries to tell Angie that he loves her but instead wishes her the best with Derek for the summer. 

Meanwhile, Miggy tries to help Rory decide who stays at Angie's house for the summer in a Bachelor style decision. I think it might have been Jared. 

As Angie says her goodbyes, Doug gives her some of his JAG snacks; but tells Will not to watch their show without or remember to miss her. As soon as they leave, Will plays the song while they clean up Angie's house. But as Angie listens to the song she goes through her bag that happened to be trashed with the candle and after smelling it she remembers the moment she cuddled and heard Will tell her that he loves her. 

"No. Wait. What? Hold On" was such a funny and intense season finale. The intense parts come at times when playing with the Will and Angie characters; whether or not they're gonna tell each other their feelings for one another. As much as Will wants to tell Angie that he loves her; I thought it was not only heartbreaking but smart to have him not telling her. Will is a character that cares for Angie and after a moment with Derek that ended with a thank you and hug; he's given up his feels for her to try being happy with Derek. 

I'm really hoping for a season three for this series. This show is so brilliant in its own way with heart and humor. I want to see a season three right now this time tomorrow to see where this goes. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

The news on Thursday wasn't what I had expected; ABC announced that they'd canceled Single Parents after two seasons.

The series was about a group of single parents helping one another of raising each other and their children. If you're a fan of New Girl and Friends, this show might be the one for you to watch. The recently canceled series was my favorite comedy out of the ABC network right with The Conners. The series wasn't just well-written but the characters were so grounded and so well-connected. The chemistry of this ensemble cast is so irresistible no matter who you paired one another within an episode.

But if I had to choose one pair that I'd enjoyed through this series it was Taran Killam and Leighton Meester's Will Copper and Angie D'Amato. While the two are the best of friends; the two come to terms in the second season that they have feelings for one another. It wasn't till the season finale (that's now a series finale), that Angie learned Will's feelings for her. And you can't tell me that we can't get the third season after that moment?

Yes, I'm very much upset and sad about the news. I was so looking forward to seeing where Will and Angie would go after that cliffhanger. With what's going on with COVID-19; I would think that the network would want to keep a good chunk of their shows (they picked up 13 shows for renewal). While a few of the shows that got picked up over, Single Parents had about the same Live+3 Days DVR rating; but Single Parents had a higher DVR in the L+7 rating among the other shows that got renewed.

But the thing that stuck in my mind since the announcement;  that ABC renewing shows that build a strategy to bring people together creating cultural moments; and making content that entertains and inspires across generations and demographics. Single Parents fits that model that the network's plan for the new season. The series has a strong diversity that appeals to many different people that are single and raising kids.  

While I think ABC had made a bad decision; I think they could have placed the series onto their streaming service whether it's Hulu or Disney+. Be more like what NBC did with A.P. Bio. The series ran for two seasons till it got canceled; until NBC picked it up and placing it on their streaming service, Peacock Streaming Service. Hulu fits best for the show with the content of humor and all. I would plead to ABC to reconsider saving the show.

This show spoke to me over a year ago after hearing about it from many people. I watched the entire first season and fell in love with it after the second episode. The characters just spoke out and the humor was so funny and I got all the jokes. The show has a lot of heart; as well with moments that had me want to grab a tissue or another glass of wine. Back in April, my grandmother and I watched not only the first season but catching up in the second season as well. She loved it. Its a different family show without taking the meaning of family out of it. 

I'm just hoping that there's a miracle for another show; like The Mind Project, Brooklyn Nine-NIne, One Day at A Time, and The Last Man Standing that had gotten saved from other networks and streaming services. A show like Single Parents shouldn't be left out; it deserves to be on as it has a good five to seven seasons ahead of them. 

The hashtag #SaveSingleParents was trending yesterday; as the fans have voiced their opinions and even signing a petition. Could this help? I hope so; we've seen shows get picked up before because of fans speaking out. Maybe we can get Single Parents to be the next one. Come on ABC, don't be like Netflix or make the same mistake with Last Man Standing.

On Thursday, ABC announced that it's canceling the sophomore series Single Parents after two seasons. Along with Single Parents, Bless This Mess, Emergence and Schooled were also canceled. The network has renewed 13 shows that include The Rookie mixed-ish and Stumptown. The May 13 season finale, which will serve as a series finale had Angie going to Barstow with Graham's father only to remember that a drunken Will confessed his love to her. This news comes to a shock to me as Single Parents was one of my favorite shows on ABC along with The Conners. This series was brilliant in the characters along with the chemistry with such an amazing ensemble cast. I thought that this series had a better shot getting renewed over the other bubble shows. I just hope the fans can get something going to maybe get Hulu to support the show.

"Look, This Is Obviously a Sexy Situation" 

With the group now knowing that Poppy and Doug broke up; Will, Angie, and Miggy tries to be there for them but also trying to ix it. 

Angie has Poppy over at her house to talk about her feelings and learns that she didn't tell Doug about why they broke up. As Angie tells her that she should tell him; Derek is there to take Graham and Poppy sees the two hitting it off as if they're in a relationship. After an argument, both Angie and Poppy apologies, and both agree to face on with what they were afraid to do: Poppy tells Doug that she wants a baby (which still ended up breaking up).

Meanwhile, as Will and Miggy try to help Doug; there's only one person that can help Doug and that is President Ronald Regan at the Ronald Regan Museum. But soon the kids found out and as Rory knew where Doug was, he was going to murder him. But instead, the two talked and had a heartwarming moment.  While waiting for Doug, Will tells Miggy that having a relationship within the group shouldn't happen; but Miggy disagrees and tells Will that he's proud of them and that you should hold feelings about someone in. 

Later Will drives to Angie's house to talk and just as he was going to talk about his feelings for her; Angie drops the bomb that she's going to travel with Derek this summer. Ouch!

"Look, This is Obviously a Sexy Situation" was a very funny episode from beginning to end, as the ending was more heartbreaking for Will. That moment when Will finds out about Angie moving with Derek for the summer really got the heartstrings a pulling. Meanwhile, the moment with Doug and Rory talking about that even though they never liked each other that this past year they've grown a lot to like each other. Overall, good writing and character development in this episode. I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"A Night of Delicate Frenching" 

As Poppy and Doug move on from their break up, their kids think of a way to get them back together. They come up with a way to make them jealous of their relationship with Doug getting an Instagram account and showing fun time photos; while Poppy requests and gives a shout out to her new relationship on the radio. Soon Poppy and Doug caught on and punished them; with the twins have to suffer watching Parent Trip. 

Will's plan to keep Angie home backfires as Graham gets to go with Sophie to Lance Bass Space Camp. She also loses her job and Will tries to get it back for her. That made Angie very upset and soon the two argued about it. Soon after the power went out, the two apologies while lighting up cheap candles and opening up twist cap wine to cheer for their one last night as friends. The next morning the two wakes up face to face on the room freaking out. 

"A Night of Delicate Frenching" was a very good and hilarious episode. I'd very much enjoyed this Rory and twins storyline than the Christmas episode. I even loved and agree that Parent Trip is such an evil movie. Could Angie and Will have shown their true feeling for one another during that night? I hope so and that the season finale will end up the beginning of their relationship. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10. 

"Oh Dip, She's Having a Baby"

Just as Poppy and Doug are adjusting to living arrangements at Doug's place Sharon comes over as she's beginning labor and needs help finding Ron. Poppy and Doug, and Miggy get Angie and Will over to help and tell their birth stories. We learn that Miggy delivered his son at a 76 gas station; Doug was sitting outside the delivery room; Poppy was upset with Ron for naming Rory after the smoke monster from Lost; Angie delivered Graham in Las Vegas while Will tells three different stories one of which was true as it involves Regis Philbin. Sharon delivered her baby at the same 76 gas station and Ron gets there at the hospital after picking up a Shaq shoe from Arizona. Poppy sees the bundle of joy and thinks about maybe wanting another baby but with Doug. "Oh Dip, She's Having a Baby" is probably one of my favorite episodes of the season, maybe even of the series so far. This episode had everything from strong character development, hilarious moments, and even emotional moments of the characters as they tell their birth stories. Hell, who knew that Miggy could step up like that for a birth at the 76 gas station. Holy crap! The cast did such an amazing job in this episode. Overall I give this episode a 9.5/10.

"A Night at Camarillo" 

When Miggy finds out that Poppy has been ordering baby books; she tells him that she's been thinking about having another baby and wants to have one with Doug. During their dinner that night, she was gonna tell him about the idea but the restaurant has something different going on that got Doug's attention and battle with Dan Marino. Soon as they got some alone time, Doug was clear with this vision of the future of not having kids as she still didn't tell him about her idea. She leaves and talks with Graham, who was left watching the rest of the kids at Doug's house. As Doug returns Poppy tells him that they might need to break up. Uh Oh! I mention that Graham was left in charge of the rest of the kids. As they didn't think that Graham could be bossy; he showed his true Italian side and got them to behave. He even needed to take five minutes as Poppy came back. Meanwhile, Angie and Colin are hitting it off well. Colin is a bit creeped out from Will be around and copying off his style of clothing. After Will hears from Colin's ex-wife that they still have an affair together; that sent Will to get to the bottom of it. Will sees from the air B&B hotel sign out books that Colin had indeed been with his ex-wife a few days ago. As Will tells Angie the truth, Will kicks him out, and the two talk and enjoy the room that Colin paid for. They even talked about that maybe Will has feelings for Angie but they dodge that question once again. But in the end, they got Colin back with the sweet revenge of putting the goose that he's hated in his car. "A Night at Camarillo" was a very good episode once again. While the Poppy and Doug story was a bit weak at times; maybe the whole restaurant scenes felt off. Maybe both Doug and Poppy should break up? Do I think that Doug would change his mind of having more kids? If he can change for her this season, he could change. The Graham story was so funny and different as we've seen him build his anger and emotions this season. But the Will and Angie story was another winner for me again. I just wish that these two will just say what they want to say. I understand their friendship means the world, but they do make that perfect couple. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Hip$ for Dolores" 

As Poppy gets a letter from her landlord at her wineberry of the rent increased; everyone tries to help her out with money. Poppy and Will tries to sell her engagement ring for a lot more money but it turns out that it's worth around $200. She did tell Will how the store has really built her self esteem after leaving her ex-husband. Meanwhile, Angie, Miggy, Rory, and Graham try to get money from Angie's co-workers from donation to even feeling bad at knocking Graham's food to the floor. As soon as they got their money together, they've lost it after Angie's story was actually true. Even Doug tries to help manage Poppy's store with some drastic measures but as soon as everyone came back Angie and Miggy brought back enough money as they sold Miggy's calendars at the office. "Hip$ for Dolores" was funny at times with its simple story of the gang trying to help raise money for Poppy's store. There were times it had some very good moments like Poppy telling Will how the store had changed her from leaving her ex-husband.

"Untz, Untz, Untz"

After another night spending the night at Doug's house, Miggy gets Doug to consider staying at Poppy's house; which turned into a disaster. First, Doug didn't enjoy it because of not getting in his evening routine; not to mention trying to find a place for his toothbrush and Poppy playing Frasier episodes so loud that she falls asleep. And the kicker comes to the bed as he couldn't get comfortable.  Even so Poppy didn't enjoy it either as Doug was too moving in the bed and even talking in his sleep. The two settle their difference and Facetime each other as their new sleeping arrangement. Meanwhile, Angie tries to hit it off with Colin by using Sophie to bond with his son; as Will takes Graham to have a boy's night. But Graham finds a woman and disappoints Will. As Angie's date night that she was hoping for didn't go the way she had hoped but ended up well after Sophie finally enjoys Colin's son after talking about apples. "Untz, Untz, Untz" was another fun episode. I very much enjoyed watching this episode with both stories as they were hilarious and so enjoyable. This was yet another good performance from the cast and the writing was as good too. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"Yarn and Pebbles" 

As Graham and Derek bonded with Angie, Graham believes its time that he and Derek hang out for the day. While Angie is okay with it, she worries about it. She gets Doug to go with him and spy on how Graham and Derek are doing. She sees that they are bonding so well that she fears that Graham is loving Derek over her. While Doug engorges himself with fired food, he helps Angie with words of advice of being Graham's rock. Poppy and Miggy help Will after his break up and finds a new relationship, but this relationship seems so weird as she acts like a robot. After meeting with her, Poppy and Miggy throw her out after making comments about how she can change Will. Will wasn't too pleased about it. While the kids try to help Doug get rid of his junk food with a food party for friends. "Yarn and Pebbles" was so good and the performance from D'arcy Caden in this episode was so good and hilarious. But I couldn't get enough of Angie, Graham and Derek's story in this episode as it was just so well written. Even Doug had such a good moment but that moment with Derek telling Graham that his mother is the real hero had me in tears. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.

"Chez Second Grade" 

It's Valentine's Day as Rory and kids put on Valentine's fundraiser date night at the school while getting a lot of money tips from the customers. With Angie and Will helping out, they finally catch up after being apart for a while. Even Will gets Angie a date that at first she wasn't too pleased with but thanks him. Meanwhile, Doug gets a visit from the Red Head again and this time it looks like she's coming on to him. He tries to tell Poppy about it but isn't worried about it because the Red Head was there for a skin check up. After talking to Graham about it, Doug believes that his relationship with Poppy is over but not to her as she comes back and hangs out with him. But tells the Red Head, who came back to the house, to lose it. "Chex Second Grade" was a very funny episode from the beginning to the end. While I couldn't get enough of the kids scamming their customers to pay more in tips; the Angie and Will scenes were so good and funny. Even watching the twins in the kitchen was hilarious as well, even trying to take care of Miggy. Overall, I give this episode an 8.5/10.

"Welcome to Hilltop" 

As Miggy tells Angie how he's exclusive his girlfriend; Angie learns from Poppy that her ex-husband's wife is expecting and the two talk about it. But soon they spotted Miggy's girlfriend with another man and they follow them to her house where they believe that she's cheating, but Poppy and Angie learn that Miggy is having a threesome relationship. Meanwhile, Sophie is trying to fight for the school's parrot's right to be taken home for the three day weekend. But with no approval from the principle, Sophie takes the bird anyway and while it's just for the weekend, Sophie tries to let the bird fly but falls and crashes to the ground ending up dead. Will gets Doug and his girls to help and teach Sophie how to lie but Will doesn't want his girl to lie and soon both of them do clean up duty at the school for punishment. "Welcome to Hilltop" was an okay episode with some good moments. While I enjoyed the Angie and Poppy story; the Will and Sophie story were a bit predictable. Overall, I give this episode a 7/10.

"Chunkies" 

As Will prepares for his date with his girlfriend, Sophie believes that she's going to dump her father after their dinner. Sophie tries to fake an illness but Will's girlfriend catches on and tells Will that she's faking it but he doesn't believe her. That is until he walks in her room jumping up and down on her bed. Sophie tells her dad and while he's upset he understands. Later he catches with his girlfriend and as they talk they decide to take a break due to what's been going on in the last few weeks. Graham prepares to meet his father and by the time he meets him, he gets sick. Angie tries to get Derek back before Graham's next sickness and soon the two bonds pretty quickly with Q&A. While Angie tries to help put Graham to bed, she's not feeling good too and Derek steps up and takes care of her too. The next day they bonded well. Emma and Amy tell Doug that their tv is dead as they try to fix it with no success. But when Miggy comes over to watch TV, it seems that he fixed the TV. The girls are flabbergasted of what had happened but learn that Miggy really didn't fix the TV at all. "Chunkies" was a very good episode; mainly the story of Graham meeting his father, Derek, for the first time. While the others were funny and heartwarming, Graham, Angie, and Derek were full of heartwarming moments and emotions. Maybe Derek can be the man for Angie to take care of Graham and her. Solid writing and performances from the cast. Overall, I give this episode a 9/10.
