Old Aspirations - Thor&Val
@thunderous-thor
Valkyrie was hoping to die on Sakaar, drunk, lazy and rich; her once strong aspirations for Asgard seemed long gone and she was content with her runaway lifestyle. Thor’s arrival was enough to increase her daily alcohol intake tenfold, let alone the events of Ragnarok that followed. After Hela was killed, or at least subdued, things seemed to settle down for all but a few breaths before more trouble arrived.
Staying true to her deserter nature, Valkyrie had fled the wrath of Thanos, but this time she took as many Asgardians as she could without being noticed. Seventy, max, which seemed disappointing considering how vast the people once were, even after Hela’s short rule. But that number was grand in comparison the amount that perished at the hands of the Black Order.
Valkyrie had gone from a deadbeat Scrapper on a trash planet to leading a small civilization of damaged people, all while traversing the galaxy in search of answers to the whole Infinity Gauntlet issue. She was exhausted, and her moodiness got in the way of her position. Also, the ship she escaped on was woefully lacking in any long term sustainability for a large group of people. They needed to touch down somewhere safe, and soon. As much as she hated to admit it, she needed Thor. Again.
Valkyrie had spent all but a few days wondering where Thor might’ve run off to to be a hero. Midgard was one of her first guesses, and she remembered the mentioning of a region called ‘New York’. Or Net Pork, but that didn’t ring a bell to anyone she asked. It took them awhile to find it, but the large group finally landed on Earth.
She had always heard tales of it being a relatively peaceful planet, all things considered, but everything seemed to be in chaos when she got there. Valkyrie was sure to land them in a safe, seemingly private area where they could rest for a few days while she sought out the God of Thunder. Valkyrie had, quite mindlessly, left the remaining Asgardians to their own devices, camped out around the ship in a hidden valley whilst she roamed the streets looking for answers. People were taken aback by her garb, but everyone seemed more caught up in their own issues to pay her much mind. After asking enough people, she was eventually pointed in the direction of the Avengers Compound. Avengers--Revengers. It sounded like a place Thor would be.
Valkyrie seemed to have no quarrels about waltzing into the facility and announcing her presence boldly to the first person she met. If she happened to run into trouble, she felt capable of fighting them with the sword she bore on her waist.
“I’m here to see Thor Odinson, God of Thunder and the rightful heir to the throne of Asgard,” The words tasted bitter in her mouth, too proper, and she scowled as she spoke them. “Tell him a member of the Valkyrie is requesting his assistance.” Once stated, Valkyrie refused to answer any other questions the person might’ve had about her intentions until they trotted off to fetch him.
