Her immediate instinct was to ask if he was joking. But the differences were clearly there. Right off the bat, Saverio was incredibly affectionate, greeting her with hugs before doing so with words. This person, despite having the same face, kept their distance, seeming almost timidly skittish.
“Oh no, I’m sorry.” Alice apologized with a smile and a habitual bow of her head. “My name is Alice.” A proper introduction was a good place to start and they could go from there.
