He passed a corner, fumbling easily heard by human ears caused the man to approach peering through the doorway until he froze on the spot. 

The lingering memories of his human life, however distant now, all gathered on a single person it was almost enough to cause a moment of emotion to allow itself to appear but he was quick to dismiss it regardless of how long he stood looking at the all too familiar features of the woman he’d loved...the woman he’d do anything for. 

He finally approached, letting out a mock amused hum as he did. “So you escaped then?” his words less of a means of curiosity and more as a way of announcing himself as he stepped into the room while his eyes never once peered anywhere but her.
