The Killer asked Chatzy to choose between Austin Daniels and Matthew Graves Chatzy chose: Austin DanielsÂ
They hummed softly to themselves, unable to resist a smug smile. Everything was going exactly as they had planned it. Although they hadnât planned on the police showing up, it did have one unexpected benefit: fewer witnesses to get in their way. Less chance of collateral damage. They didnât mind a few extra victims to satisfy their own sick need for death, but they hadnât planned on killing the entire rave. That would have been most inconvenient. It might have worried someone else in their shoes, with plans as grand as theirs, but they werenât worried. With the few still left wandering the tunnels, there was plenty to draw back in their intended victims. Even now, theyâd already begun showing back up like lambs to the slaughter.
Their footsteps were light on the stony ground in an attempt to remain quiet as they stalked their next prey. Austin Daniels. Heâd come back looking for his brother, a search that was in vain. Austin wasnât going to see his brother again on this side of life. Theyâd barely gotten the other boyâs body hidden before the police had come. Theyâd even seriously considered letting Austin find pieces of Sethâs body; A morbid trail of bread crumbs leading to his brotherâs head. Theyshe knew that would be hilarious to watch as the boy obsessed with serial killers slowly realized his brother had fallen prey to one. And that soon he would too.
But they were in a hurry now. Soon the catacombs wouldnât be so empty, as stragglers found their way back inside. They quickened their pace to catch up with the young man who was calling out his brotherâs name. They were standing almost right behind Austin when he finally realized the presence of the other person.
âShit, you scared me,â he said with a nervous laugh.
They smiled again, this one a tad more menacing than their earlier smug one. After a moment they shrugged, pulling out the knife from their pocket. âQuick question,â
âHow does it feel to know that youâre about to fall victim to the greatest killer the catacombs have ever known?â They stalked closer as Austin began backing away, glancing back and forth between the knife and the killerâs face. He had to realize by then what a terrible mistake heâd made by coming back for his brother. As he turned to run, they reached out and grabbed a fistful of his hair, yanking his head back to expose his throat. A second later, the knife was pressed against his jugular with just enough force to draw a single line of blood. âYou should know,â they growled in Austinâs ear, âyour brother died slowly. Painfully. He was begging for death.â They laughed, âBut donât worry, I wonât even make you ask.â They sliced the knife through Austinâs throat with more force than necessary, cutting halfway through his windpipe before letting go and watching him fall to the floor. The noises he was making, trying to both breathe and exhale in pain, were music to their ears.
They grabbed his legs to drag him to the location of the other bodies. No use wasting anymore time; Austin could die on his way there. âYouâre going to be with your brother now.â They added, giving the boy one last menacing smile as the light left his eyes. âAnd soon everyone else will be too.â
