Abel grew up to be a different man being raised by Wendy and away from Charming. He's not as smart as Thomas, and he still has that slight bit of arrogance. He didn't go to college, and his dreams of serving with the Marines were cut short because of his heart condition, so he still ended up as a grease monkey in the end, but he's happy, and is well known for restoring vintage motorcycles and cars.

Abel has a hereditary heart condition that he has to take medication for. 

Abel has a scar on his chest from where he had heart surgery when he was an infant. 

Abel still has and wears the 'son' ring his grandmother Gemma gave him when he was five. 

Kenny proudly wears the patch and rides his father's bike. He's always putting work into it and making sure it's in the best shape possible. Having both lost parents at a young age,  and a love for the club, Abel and Kenny bonded easily, and are very close friends.

Both Abel and Thomas love when their ladies are significantly smaller than they are. (The fact that they're giants doesn't make this difficult). 

Abel has never seen Wendy as his mom, and never will see her as his mom, no matter how hard she tries. End of story.
