Despite having been thrown into a whole new city without his knowing, it strangely didn’t bother Gaius too much. All he was a simple thief who had no real home to call his own. He couldn’t even call the Shepherds a type of home, despite the relationships he had built there. To him, it was a job he was paid for and once his services were done, he was gone. Gone to wander the streets of the cities and towns, looking for ways to keep making a living.
He had little idea how he ended up in a city like this, yet here he was. The buildings were of an unfamiliar build, the roads filled with unfamiliar vehicles with noises he’d never heard before. What did give him a sense of familiarity were the streets filled with people, surrounding marketplaces and stalls.
Filled with people unsuspecting of the hidden intentions of the thief. Most of his belongings were taken away from him upon entering the city. The needle and threads he carried around for when he needed to sew. His weapon, replaced with a wooden sword instead.
...All of his sweet, sugary goods! Pilfered from his own pockets! Take the gold but leave the sugar, damn you! The only one that was left behind was his little pink bear lollipop, still resting against his chest plate. If Gaius was a religious man, he’d be thanking the gods for having left his favorite little guy alone.
Why they’d take his sweets and leave his gold, he didn’t know. But he knew he needed to replace what was lost. The street was busy but his fingers were quick. Within a matter of minutes he had amassed a small pile of extra coins ( he assumed them to be money but they looked different from his own ) and even a few bits of candy. One a lollipop that he popped right into mouth.
As he strolled towards a man some feet in front of him, Gaius quickly scanned his clothing. A pocket in the back with a small bump towards the bottom... Once close enough to him from behind, he gave his fingers a quick wiggle before he quickly reached towards the pocket.
