Fandom - The Tide Pairing - Drate (Drew and Nate) — General POV

It was Drew and Nate’s 1 year of being boyfriends. And Nate wanted to do something special for Drew, he was going to propose. There was going to be a little twist to it, Nate would write notes and a clue to the next note, and plot them around the house. Nate’s eyes fluttered open. He looked at the alarm clock, it read 9:30 am. ‘Damn I gotta go.’ Nate thought. So he carefully got out of bed, trying not to disturb Drew’s fitful sleep. But no such luck as Drew’s eyes squinted open.

“N-Nate?” Drew asked, drowsy. “Yes baby?” He whispered. “Where are you going?” Drew questioned, a bit more alert of his surroundings. “I gotta go and run some errands.” Nate replied. “Do you want me to come with you?” Drew queried. “No. It’s okay baby.” Nate replied, massaging Drew’s scalp gently. “Okay.” Nate could see Drew’s eyes drooping, trying to fight sleep. “Go to sleep baby.” Nate continued to massage Drew’s scalp, the action helping him go back to sleep.

When Nate was satisfied that his lover was asleep, he started to get dressed, brush his teeth, do his hair, and went downstairs to write the notes. 

- 10 minutes later - 

When Nate was finished writing, he planted them in the house and saved two for a later time. Nate looked at the time and saw that it was 9:50 am. Now I really gotta go Nate thought, while grabbing his keys and his backpack, and made his way to his car.

- 9 minutes later - 

As Nate ran into the park, he found Laustin making out under a tree. They are such lovebirds Nate shook his head at the two, and cleared his throat loudly. The two boys jumped away from each other and screamed loudly. “Reason why?” Austin said. “Because we have work to do.” Nate replied. The two boys groaned loudly in annoyance. “Fine! Even though we have 8 hours to do this in!” Austin shouted, which resulted in Levi slapping his arm. “Austin!” Levi gasped. “I’m only stating the truth Levi.” Austin said. “And…? You don’t have to shout.” Levi replied. “I’m sorry baby.” Austin apologized. “It’s okay.” Levi said, and pecked his lovers lips. “AHEM” Nate cleared his throat again. And this time the two boys stopped what they were doing and started doing the work needed for the evening.

- Back at the Drate house - 

Drew woke up again and felt the bed empty and cold, only to remember that Nate said he 'Had to run some errands.’ I miss you already Nate Drew thought, sadly. Drew quickly shook those sad thoughts out of his head, and got up to get dressed, brush his teeth, do his hair, and went downstairs to get some breakfast. When Drew was in the kitchen he found a note on the counter it read:

To my beautiful boyfriend, I think you’re very cute. — The next note is on the picture of where we first kissed.

Drew dashed to the hallway, breakfast long forgotten, to find the picture. After looking numerous times he finally found it, on the top shelf, under the staircase. The note read:

To my beautiful boyfriend, I love your voice. — The next note is on your favourite device in the house (Not the phone)

Drew smiled a little smile. One that many people wouldn’t see. It was just for him and Nate. As he slowly walked to the living room, reading the two notes over and over again, he looked up and searched for his laptop. Once he found it, he found another note on it. The note read:

To my beautiful boyfriend, I love the way you dance when we’re together and a cheesy love song comes up, and it’s always a slow dance. Which makes you even more beautiful. — The next note is coming to you in 6 hours (6 pm), so do whatever you like - oh and dress cute :)

Drew was confused. What was happening in 6 hours? Why do you love to confuse me so much? Drew thought. He shook his head and made his way to the bedroom deciding to choose his outfit. 

- 15 minutes later - 

Yay! Drew found an outfit! It was: a cream jumper, blue denim, white shirt and white converse.   I can’t wait for tonight! Drew thought excitedly. He layed his outfit on the bed and made his way downstairs to go on YouTube and listen to some music.

- 5 hours 35 minutes later -

Drew looked at the time and thought he better get dressed in his outfit. He made his way upstairs and got dressed, did his hair and sat back on the sofa and waited for 6 pm to come.  

- 10 minutes later -

DING DONG! Drew jumped up from the sofa and dashed to the door. Once the door opened, he was met with Austin. “Hi Austin.” Drew greeted. “Hi Dr- OMG Drew!” Austin gasped. “Why? What’s wrong?” Drew asked, worried. “Nothing you just look… Amazing, gorgeous, a whole lot of good things!” Austin said, breathless of how cute Drew looked. Drew bowed his head and said, “T-Thanks Austin.” And then the younger curled his arms round his torso. “Come on Drew. Nate will be happy to see you.” At the mention of Nate’s name, Drew perked up immediately. Austin smiled and wrapped an arm round Drew’s shoulders. When they sat in Austin’s car, Austin gave Drew another note. The note read:

To my beautiful boyfriend, I love you. — I’ll see you soon <3

Drew smiled a big smile, this time. Which made Austin smile and wonder, They’re lucky to have each other

- 30 minutes later - 

“We have arrived.” Austin announced. Drew looked up, his eyes a bit stingy from his lil rest in the car. His eyes lit up, once he figured out where he was and tackled Austin into a hug, which Austin returned of course. “Go Drew go! Nate’s waiting for you. He’s under the only lit up tree.” Austin spoke. “Thank you so much Austin.” Drew smiled. “Anytime.” Austin smiled back. “Now go.” And Drew shot out of the car, nearly knocking Levi over at the gate. When Drew found the lit up tree, he looked down and saw the red velvet carpet with tea lights on each side. As he started to walk, he looked up and saw his lover sitting down on a chair. “Hi babe.” Drew spoke, when he reached the table. Nate stood up and kissed Drew’s lips. They parted after a few minutes and sat down. “Hi baby. Like it?” Nate asked. “Like it? I love it!” Drew replied. “Good.” Nate smiled, “Did you have breakfast?” When Drew didn’t reply, his smile faltered a bit. “I take it as a no.” “I’m sorry… I forgot.” Drew looked down. “Eat.” Nate demanded. Drew started to eat and soon finished the same time as Nate did. “Well done baby.” “Thanks.” Nate looked around nervously. “Nate what’s wrong?” Drew queried. “I’ve wanted to do this for a bit and now’s a good time to do it.” Nate said. “Nate you’re scaring me. What is it?” Drew asked. Nate got down on one knee infront of Drew and said, “Drew Dirksen, I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” Drew’s hands went to his mouth in shock. “Yes. Yes I will!” And tackled Nate to the ground in a hug. Once they were sitting back up, Nate slid the ring on his finger. They layed back on the ground, Drew’s head on Nate’s chest and just layed there peacefully. “I love you Nate.” Drew whispered. “I love you too Drew.” Nate whispered back.

Nate's POV

I woke up, startled, to the sound of whimpering and shuffling. I look over to my left, and see that Drew is tossing and turning with the sheets tangled. "Drew! Baby wake up!" I whisper/shouted. "NO! Gotta get away!" Drew said, breathless. "DREW WAKE UP!" I shouted. "NATE!" Drew screamed, and shot up straight in bed. He looked around in fear, once he saw I was next to him, he hugged me for dear life. "Drew... What happened?" I asked, hesitant of his reply. --- Drew's POV

Running. That's all I've been doing to get away from him. Him is Nate. Nate the boy that I love with all my heart. We're in a forest. Nate's still chasing me. He nearly caught me a few times, because I was tripping over the uprising tree roots. I don't know why he's chasing me, I've done nothing wrong! Wait! There's a cliff! Oh God! I'm going to die! As we near the cliff, I stumble to a stop, and so does Nate. "Why are you chasing me?" I asked, shakily. "Because I hate you! I want you die so you can get out of my life!" He shouted, as I flinched at his words. "Nate, you don't mean that." "Yes I do!" He neared close to me and I moved closer to the edge. He took a step closer pushed me off the cliff and then everything went black. --- Nate's POV
