it had been something she'd kept secret from others for such a long time. when she first transformed it had been hard, but over the years it had gotten a tad easier. it wasn't easy when there wasn't always a large body of water nearby though. yet she returned her thoughts to the present as she continued to focus on elijah. "i've always wondered if the fear of water i had as a child keeps trying to manifest itself it again," a lie, but one she hoped could sound convincing.

"i appreciate the concern," cleo spoke as she opened the door. she was dry now and back in her human form. "i've had this happen to me quite a few times unfortunately." she isn't quite sure whether or not he saw anything of her tail before she locked herself in the other room. however, she'll avoid the topic as long as possible instead.

it took the mermaid a bit to find the tunnel, due to her time away, but eventually she found her way. as cleo lifted her head above the water she began to look around. despite how much it felt the same she knew the moon pool looked different. even with that feeling she couldn't help but smile.

just the tiniest splash had sent her into a panic as she ran into the bathroom. her tail appeared before she could close the door, thus she fell to the floor. a thud followed, but cleo quickly used her tail to slam the door shut. now the real panic set in as she grabbed some nearby towels to dry herself off.
