Came for a lighthearted destiel fusion with Beauty and the Beast to take my mind off the late canon stuff and stayed for all the amazing parallels and references to the Disney movie and SPN. All the references! Seriously, it was such a joy to see how classic Disney characters were seamlessly transformed into beloved (or not so beloved, lol) characters from the show.

Dean is a small town mechanic who is openly bisexual and being shunned because of it. He’s feeling out of place and not belonging. Angel Castiel is disfigured by a terrible curse which is so, so different from the one in the fairy tale and yet so fitting to the Castiel we know. And I bet you won’t guess easily which characters are filling in for the Clock, the Candlestick and the Wardrobe! I loved every moment Dean spent with his new friends in the cursed castle. Dean and Cas’ courtship was so lovely and so believable that I wanted it to last much much longer. All in all, this story soothed my post season 12 finale broken heart and it is a Beauty and the Beast fusion that Dean and Cas deserve.

Just Your Heart, In Exchange For Mine by noxsoulmate Rating: M Word Count: 46,800 Summary:  Dean owns a bakery and Castiel loves his pie. This could be such a cute little bakery love story – if it weren’t for the fact that one was a retired hunter and the other one a powerful witch. There’s also the matter of the black little cat Dean finds in front of his bakery one cold and rainy night. Not to forget the crazy witch on the loose, ripping out other witches’ hearts.

This fic is just so effortlessly adorable. It invites you in with a smell of pie and shy flirting between a bakery owner and his regular. They are so cute together! They like each other so much, why neither of them makes a move? Maybe because Cas is also the cat from the summary? I hope I’m not spoiling too much but yes, Cas spends quite a big part of the story as a sentient cat and Dean takes good care of him. Their bonding is something special. As the story goes on, we discover more and more about retired hunter Dean and friendly but powerful witch Cas slash cursed cat. Every little revelation puts a new spin on the story and I loved it so much. A fic that started as a sweet meet cute suddenly turned into engaging tale of secret identities, trust and purity of souls. This is also one of the rare fics that pays due amount of attention to character’s demisexuality and what it means for a budding relationship. All in all, a wonderful story!
