Yingyu had been on the way after a day of exploring. So new to the town, she wanted to know where everything was without hesitation, and so by now, the sun had set a while ago. Darkness, though, never seemed to be a problem for Yingyue. The streets always lit up with the illuminated strings of soulmates, a nearly magical nightlight. So as long as their were people on her path, she never needed a light.
Strolling through the park, Yingyue, dressed warmly, had no need to a rush. She took the time to look for someone with a nearby soulmate, just out of reach. Yet, in her searching, she found an anomaly: a man with no string under the light. It was not the first time she had seen this, though typically not with someone this young. Yingyue could only wonder whether they would care. A soulmate doesn't mean a loveless future, but for those who spent their lives searching, she slightly understood how heartbreaking that could be.
In truth, it was more curiosity that propelled her to him. A life with no mentor to her powers, she only knew what she could figure out and the few ideas that came from her master. So, she would figure this one out as well, and Yingyue would take care of him as she did so. It was a fair trade in her eyes.
As she finally approached, she noticed a small shiver in his body. A smile pulled on her lips, and Yingyue knew immediately how to create a their connection. Slipping her red scarf off, the demigoddess finally moved before the man. She did not even give him a moment to react before she placed the red scarf gently around his neck. "It's way too cold outside." She scolded him, looking up at him as she did so. "You should get in soon before you freeze."
