thinking about tweaking Isri’s general canon. he started off as an endless forest gijinka and I kind of want to recall that soft atmosphere….

at the moment I’m pondering like… if he were some sort of forest deity? a protective nature spirit that brought luck to those that happened to glimpse him. it fits his reclusive tendencies but not his personality and interests. so that’s why I’m not 100% on it. he loves high fashion and modern conveniences, though he’s hardworking and isn’t the type to take the easy route for the sake of doing so. and while he has a quiet appreciation for nature he’s defs not NATURE HO –if that even makes sense :Ta

Idk I have ten minutes before I return to food service hell so… those are just my thoughts for the moment.

I’ve been thinking a lot today about an HP au with my characters (and secretly other people’s but I didn’t want to assume a lot of things, so yeah just… mostly my ocs)

Aggy – Hufflepuff, best subject is Herbology but excels in Potions as well. keeps potted plants around her bed in the dormitory and is forgetful when it comes to remembering the password to the common room. comes from a modest family, with a witch for a mother and a squib for a father. has a pet cat/kneazle hybrid named Adelaide.

Hammer – Hufflepuff, best subject is Transfiguration. metamorphmagus. doesn’t have any particular plans when it comes to the future, but would like to travel and see the world. has a lot of friends across houses, often seen flitting from group to group.

Isri – Ravenclaw, best subject is Charms. is interested in muggle culture (particularly theater and fashion) and admires their non-magical accomplishments. rather savvy when it comes to the muggle world in general and is a little sad he doesn’t have many people to talk about it with. half-veela and half-human.

Jay – Ravenclaw, best subject is Care of Magical Creatures. seems to be on good terms with his copy of The Monster Book of Monsters. very intense about his desire to learn more about magical creatures and often gets in trouble for trying to make trips to the Forbidden Forest. plans to become a Magizoologist once done with school.

Tamara – Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Slytherin while in school. ran with a powerful warlock in her younger years and burned bridges and made bad decisions while doing so. she eventually separated from them and turned a new leaf. aims to give her students a realistic depiction of the dangers of dark magic, as well as provide them with the tools they need to protect themselves. strict but fair as a teacher, pushes her students hard and gives credit when it is due.

Torsten – Divination professor, Slytherin while in school. very knowledgeable but their personality is difficult to deal with. commonly strays from the set curriculum and skips their own classes for matters they consider more important. docks points indiscriminately for petty reasons. has an office full of cats and most are unsure of why they have not been fired.

that’s all I’ve got at the moment. probably will post more whenever headcanons come to me.

Isri was long overdue for a new ref, so I dedicated the afternoon and evening to working on this. I like this way better than the pic I used for his original app. I plan to do an antler ref on top of this because they can be difficult to draw.

there was a conversation in the aven casual chat about oc crushes, and while I said my two cents I figured I’d muse in a more in-depth manner here

Hammer has platonic crushes on pretty much everyone. has yet to develop romantic feelings for anyone. I imagine that Hammer’s wtfromantic on some level because they have zero experience with romance and may not be able to distinguish a romantic crush from a platonic one.

their most notable relationship is with Dweller right now and their dynamic is deeply platonic. if nothing happens to negatively impact things, I feel like it’ll become very intimate.

Hajari doesn’t seem to get platonic crushes because of how his brain is wired, but he definitely experiences romantic crushes. obviously had a huge thing for Jamie in the beginning of their relationship. probably a bit early for him to be in love with his brofriend, but he’s definitely in very strong like.

Anju has had a romantic crush on Leo for a long while now and may be developing something for Zephyr. it’s possible she has platonic feelings for Zinc too. Anju tends to fall for people she sees as creative or similar to herself. but she rarely acts on her feelings, sitting on them for months... and occasionally using them as fuel for songs or poetry. she seems rather content to just watch and appreciate from afar.

Isri no crushes as of yet, but Isri feels more aloof and ambiguous to me when it comes to his feelings towards others. there’s definite fondness for the characters he’s befriended. but I get the sense that he doesn’t care one way or the other if his relationship dynamics shift from a friendship to a romance, or vice versa.

Rori and Motty are most likely the characters he’d consider dating... though I think Isri probably wouldn’t make the first move (at least not now, when he doesn’t have definite romantic feelings for anyone). but he would probably say yes if either of them asked him out.

thinking about Isri’s dynamic with aven characters (just as an offshoot from a convo w Mel). not much has happened between Jaime and Isri but I find it funny anyway because Jaime brings out an immature side of him. like I really wouldn’t put it past Isri to literally tell him to butt out in the most whiny kid voice ever if he offered up advice that Isri was too stubborn to listen to.

sticking my college au thoughts in a post for personal reference

Anju

english major, concentration in creative writing / music minor

3rd year, full-time

works in university library part-time

has few friends and is often seen alone

lives on-campus but her family is constantly pressuring her to live somewhere nicer than the school’s dorms, she has a single bc her parents pulled strings without her knowledge

Isri

drama major, concentration in costume and set design

2nd year, full-time

has a few close friends and a wide circle of acquaintances

still a bit of a homebody though and gets dragged out to parties or get-togethers by more outgoing and boisterous friends

usually very busy bc he helps out with stage productions (school + local) and doesn’t get a lot of sleep as a result

doesn’t have a job bc he has a lot on his plate from school, but he’ll occasionally make bits of cash from doing manicures/pedicures

in his down-time, you can find him at a Starbucks working on assignments or cramming for a test

has his own apartment off-campus that’s within walking distance from the school

Hajari

dropped out of university, was planning to study business but later felt that school wasn’t for him (quit after two semesters)

still lives near campus and is a frequent sight because he has friends that are still in school or live in the area

deals pot to local students, part-times at a convenience store to give himself something to do

parties a lot and is unreliable when it comes to making plans

still in an oc frame of mind

human Isri is really into upkeeping his nails and feet. it’s rare to see him without polish on his fingers or toes. he does nail art on an intricate level and spends his downtime giving himself manicures and pedicures. he doesn’t freak out if his polish chips or if a nail breaks though. mostly he just uses it as an excuse to apply a new design.

not much would change about Isri because he’s already in college. but he’d be a hipster for sure... I don’t think he’d be as confident about wearing dresses/skirts in public since people can be dickish about that. but he’d still own quite a few and would be comfortable wearing them with friends. the mori kei aesthetic still stands. you’d swear he lives in Starbucks with how often you’d find him there and unsurprisingly he knows the secret menu by heart. probably has a wide circle of acquaintances and a small group of close friends.

Anju would major in english (with a focus on creative writing) and minor in music. she doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life but she figures she might as well gain as much knowledge as she can on the subjects that move her. she’d dress creepy cute... lots of skirts and dresses with morbid patterns and eyeball bows and skeleton hairclips. she’d keep to herself a lot and would sit under trees reading books.
