{ Cross My Heart: Part I }
Having finally been shown his room, Sora walked in, taking all the decour in. It had a nicely made bed, a couple of dressers, and was that?? A personal bathroom? …Nice. Without much thought, he placed all his belongings on the bed and smiled.
“All done.” He was never one to enjoy unpacking, that was a chore for another time. He turned on his heel with ease and made eye contact with Namine, flashing her a smile before walking back out of the room, closing the door behind him gently. “Don’t sweat it, im wide awake! Took a nap on the way here.” There was a super long train ride accompanied by a just-as-long drive to the estate, that was more than enough quiet time for him. “Besides, there’s so much stuff to cover!” He wasn’t sure where to begin, honestly “But hey, I can talk about myself later. How’ve you been?” Sora asked, resting his hands behind his head as he waited for her to lead the way to where she felt most comfortable talking. It was such a beautiful day out, maybe they could sit on the porch? The boy was pretty sure he saw a super spacious backyard (Like 100,000 acres or something). “Oh! Hey, maybe we could sit outside, get some fresh air? Without all the buildings around, you get a really good view of the-” A grunt shut Sora up almost instantly, it had come from the very reserved Lexaeus… “Was it something i said?”
The girl couldn't help but smile at Sora's simplicity. It took her by surprise honestly; she was fully expecting to wait for him to get settled. She should have known better, though. Sora wasn't the kind of guy to settle in one place for too long.
Before she could even comprehend his many questions, Lexaeus stepped forward to answer for her, "I'm afraid that will not be an option, Sora. Namine is forbidden from leaving the walls of the estate. It's for her safety."
Namine frowned, clutching her hands at her chest as she tried to formulate a rebuttal... but it was useless to try and fight it. He was right, after all. She glanced at Sora and saw the confusion written on his face, so she mustered up the courage to try explaining things to him.
"What he says is true... I'm not allowed to go outside, or else it'd leave me and the family open to an attack from other treasure hunters. I can't really explain all the details but... I can't risk going outside - not until Father finds what he's looking for."
She knew none of what she said would make things any easier for him to understand. She wanted to explain everything to him in full, she really did, but now wasn't the time to do so. Instead, she tentatively grabbed his hands and urged him down the hall.
"B-But hey, I'd be more than happy to show you around the estate! Trust me, you'll need a grand tour if you don't wanna get lost later on."

Kairi had hoped, after she met Naminé, that she’d be able to get her own heart someday. And though she hadn’t expected it to be so soon, she was definitely glad. The separation had been easy, but it had worn them both out and Kairi knew that just because she was feeling better, that didn’t necessarily mean Naminé was too.
Though she hoped she was, she wouldn’t mind postponing her surprise for another day or two until she was feeling up to it.
Kairi searched the tower for the blonde former nobody, hoping she didn’t look too excited as she looked around. She didn’t want Naminé to suspect anything before she’d even gotten the chance to reveal her surprise plan.
When she finally found her though, she couldn’t stop her smile from widening and steps to pick up speed a little.
❛ Naminé! ❜ She called, stopping a little ways in front of her, grinning.
❛ How’re you feeling? ❜
Ever since separating from Kairi and becoming her own person, Namine’s had a rough time stabilizing herself enough to fully enjoy the freedom. As a Nobody, she was incomplete, and therefore couldn’t feel emotions to their full extent. She knew what they were and what they were supposed to feel like, but there would still be a hollow emptiness she couldn’t ignore otherwise. But as she stood outside of Yen Sid’s tower, staring at the hazy, starry sky, she finally came to understand what that hollow feeling was.
A heart, yearning to be whole.
Still, it wasn’t easy adjusting to the small but immense change. The emotional imbalance caused Namine to have panic attacks and severe mood swings -- things she never experienced before. It was for that reason she opted to stay close to Kairi, her safety net and support. She couldn’t always be there for Namine when she had her moments, but knowing she was close by was reassuring enough. Besides, she enjoyed watching Kairi train and grow stronger.
So when she heard her approaching steps and eager call, she turned around with a soft, albeit tired, smile.
“Hey, Kairi,” she responded, “I’m alright. I woke up from a nap earlier and thought I’d get some fresh air... Did you need something?” She couldn’t help but notice the anticipation in the redhead’s eyes. Was she planning something?
{ I’ll Make It Up to You }

She could see the pain in the false Nobody’s eyes. She was all too familiar with that pain, and yet somehow it felt beyond her reach. It felt deeper, much stronger, than anything she experienced up to this point in her short life. Could she even say she felt pain in the first place? She wanted to believe so... and it was why she was sure Xion felt it too -- “fake” or not.
A bitter smile graced her lips in an attempt to ease the tension in the room. Her eyes never broke contact with Xion’s, for she tried to find some break in her fury... But several seconds passed without such reprieve. This wouldn’t be easy, and Namine knew that. Still, she wished otherwise.
With a soft sigh, the Nobody averted her gaze to the table space in front of her. Reluctantly, she spoke:
“There is no way to be one-hundred percent sure,” she began, choosing her words carefully. “But I can say with confidence that your existence is important. You play a small part in something bigger than yourself as you are now. And I want you to understand that I will take care of your memories to the best of my ability.”
She paused to let her words sink in. A part of her felt contradictory as she spoke of Xion’s existence and memories, but if she knew anything at all about herself and her powers it was that she knew how to keep memories intact. She was confident in her abilities to preserve the replica in some way... even if it wasn’t in a way Xion would like.
But she had to understand...
“Sora needs you... and in a way, Roxas -- he needs you, too.”
@drexm-eater
It hadn’t been the best way to start a conversation, not at all. If anything – it probably only made things all the more awkward.
And yet, as was typical for her, she smoothed things over – and he wasn’t one to deny an offer; so, as such, he placed himself beside her, shutting his eyes and focusing, for a moment, on the breeze and the waves;
He’d missed all of this – this normalcy. This home.
Her words snapped him from his momentary reverie, one teal hue cracking open again to glance over at her.
Something on his mind— Yeah—
“You could say that,”
Not really; it wasn’t like it was anything ultimately pressing, but—
“I wanted to apologise. And thank you; for all you’ve done.”
The girl’s pencil stopped just short of the paper, the point suspended over her sketch in progress. Apologize? That was unexpected. She glanced at him, a hint of curiosity in her deep blue eyes.
“There’s no need for that, really,” she assured with a soft smile. “I’ve done just as much to hurt you as I did to help... It was the least I could do to make up for it all. You’ve nothing to apologize for.”
Her delicate hands gripped her sketchbook tightly, now lost in thought over what could’ve brought this up. Sure, she and Riku weren’t on the best terms, but he had his reasons. Even she knew that. But her? She had no other reason other than she was lonely; the Organization took advantage of that, but it was ultimately still her wishes that contributed to the mess.
By no means did she feel she deserved any thanks either.

Her quiet mutter didn’t feel as… enthusiastic as Selphie had hoped. Or maybe it wasn’t as certain as she hoped? She didn’t know what word she wanted here, it just didn’t feel like…
Well, Selphie realized she hadn’t exactly known Namine for very long, so she couldn’t just demand her trust like that, and it’s not like she was inclined to believe everything Selphie said. But that just meant Selphie would have to try harder in response!
“I’m not maybe right, I am right!” Selphie said,upbeat and confident. Maybe if she did it enough, a little bit would rub off on Namine? Namine seemed like the type who really needed a vote of confidence here.“They’re your friends, right? So you have to believe in them! And, um, they believe in you! Yeah!” It would help if Selphie knew more about Namine’s friends, since she was sort of talking in circles now.
“Huh, you found something else?” Selphie finally turned her attention to all the liter charms, and her green eye lit up with excitement. “You’re going to make charms! I’d love to help! I’m great at it! I made my bracelet all by myself!” Had she said that already? Who knows. “And it’s a lot of fun, too! You’ll love it so much that you’ll get into doing it all the time! I know I do! Especially for friendship bracelets! And they can be personalized and one-of-a-kind, which feels so great when you’re done! I’ll give you a crash course on it!”
Namine admired Selphie’s dedication. She knew so little of her, and yet she strove so hard to keep her in high spirits. How could so much sunshine exist in one person? How much longer before that sunshine ran out? The young witch saddened a little at the thought; she knew she was probably trying Selphie’s patience.
Still, she wanted to make it up to her somehow, especially after all the help she’d been today. With a delighted smile to mask her worries, Namine wrapped up her shopping with Selphie before walking with her back to the beach, per her own suggestion. The town was nice, and while Namine was a fan of people-watching, it probably wouldn’t help her focus much while making bracelets. For what it was worth, the blonde did her best to keep up with idle chitchat along the way.
They settled on a rocky area on the shore, where Namine got comfortable and immediately sifted through the bag of materials they gathered for their projects. She held up the bundles of colored string and frowned, a troubled expression on her face.
“Hmm... I’m not very good at hands-on stuff like this, so... I’m not very sure where to start,” she said, looking to Selphie with a sheepish grin. “Any suggestions?”
Radiant Garden….right. That was the place that used to be Hollow Bastion, right? Or it had its name changed twice? His recollection of that whole situation is kind of fuzzy, so he pushes it off to the side. She liked it, and that was the point. She liked buildings, and ruins. He wonders if she might like a place like Greece if old, dusty buildings are her thing. And what did she think of that abandoned mansion in Twilight Town?
“Wonderland was crazy, that’s for sure…” he squints at the memory, obviously not seeing the appeal. Maybe she liked all of the wacky colors? He’s not sure the queen and that weird cat are worth it, but to each their own.
“It’s weird we can still use them at all. I always wondered why you never had to wear the cloak—even people outside of the organization did, but I guess you’re just really tough. Heh.” He grins good-naturedly, not wanting to press the topic further than she was comfortable with. He’s gotten…better with that, his tact. He’s told it’s still not very good, but you had to take short strides before you could run right? That’s how it worked with everything. The pirate ship…a lot of his strongest memories and feelings of Kairi had been there. On top of it just being a troublesome place by itself, that was another reason Roxas had avoided it. He didn’t need an excuse to have an episode when he could be taken captive by Captain Hook. It’s the next part that really gets him though, has Roxas bug-eyed and sitting up like he’d been electrocuted. “What?! There’s a clock tower?” he flushes and withdraws moments later, immediately embarrassed about his outburst. It genuinely shocked him to hear of it—Roxas had been there a number of times and had never seen it, or heard it referenced. The Lost Boys talked about playing games and eating food all day, stories—Pan was much the same, though he liked to talk about some girl at times too. Then there was Tinkerbell, but she didn’t exactly…talk.
Roxas bites his lip, knuckles curling in his lap. He wonders if it’s okay to even ask, but ends up doing it anyway.
“Do you…know how to get there? I mean, we could probably find it! I’d…well, I’d like to go too.”
A soft hum escapes her lips and she smiles at his assumption. It might not be true, her being tough, but she did find it strange how she didn’t need the aid of a black cloak amidst the realm of darkness. She’d probably have to ask Axel about it sometime... It might provide a few answers to questions she’s had about herself.
When Roxas jumped, Namine couldn’t help but laugh. His expression was so bright and genuinely surprised that she was surprised his eyes didn’t pop straight out of his skull. Even when he withdrew, the sight of his face stayed fresh in her mind, making her laugh a little more -- enough to where she had to sit up.
“I-I’m so sorry,” she apologized between giggles. A hand instinctively covered her mouth as her residual laughter subsided. “You surprised me there for a second, but--”
“Yes, there’s definitely a clock tower there! I’ve only ever seen it in small glimpses from his memories, but... I think I may know how to get there. Or at least, where it is. The ‘getting there’ might be the difficult part.”
The girl held a hand to her chin gently as she pondered exactly how Sora managed to make it to the tower. From what she remembered, they’d need the power of flight... and unfortunately for her she had no such power. She sighed, but looked to Roxas with her usual smile.
“Wanna go now, then? It sounds like a fun little adventure.”

No not goodbye! When I wake up, I’ll find you.
Namine is a proud supporter of Moogle Industries.
So, I love that when you go see the Moogle in RE:CoM it flails around and squeaks. It’s really cute. I took a mental break from work on Friday and thought “I’m going to toss that moogle around” (because, what else do you do with cute stuffies?) So, I roughed that in and somehow between then and now it turned into this.
Gifs and screen caps and why not a youtube video too.
I blame the sweltering heat.

"Not...walk."
Startled, Namine turned her head to see the Dusk speaking to her. She didn’t know they could talk?! Unsure of what to do, Namine got up and hid behind her chair.
“What... What was that?” she asked, clutching the chair tightly in her weak little hands.

Namine panics.
“She won’t respond -- she’s just laying on the floor crying?! I... I don’t know what to do, um...”
What does the mun think about the beach/ocean?
“She adores the beach. Unfortunately she doesn’t go often, but she enjoys every minute of each visit she does make. That’s another thing we have in common!”
Would you do an art trade with the mun?!
“Of course!!”

Does your mun prefer cats or dogs? :3
“Oh gosh, I dunno... She loves big dogs, but she cries when she sees cats -- but in a good way, I think?” She thinks for a moment. “... I think it’s easier to say she dislikes small dogs.”
What's the Mun's favorite holidays?
“She loves Halloween. I don’t think she’s a fan of scary things, but she loves candy and pumpkin carving!”
