The hunter couldn’t hide his worried expression, but he also wasn’t moving. He wouldn’t touch the flame, not yet. There hadn’t been much of a spark, there hadn’t been screaming and fighting. He’d expected something else.
Dean licked his lips, and gave Kevin a side-ways glance. He then turned back to Sam. “You tell me. What’s the last thing you remember?”
Gadreel pushed himself up onto Sam’s hand, propping himself up just a little bit. His hands shook when he ran one through his hair.
"I—I don’t know." He looked up at Dean, making his face as close to pleading as he could possibly muster. "Dean, please. What’s going on?"
Kevin stood back. He knew this didn't feel right, but it also didn't feel right to make Sam suffer any more. He had to wonder just how long this had been going on, but it was a question to ask later.
He was worried and glanced at Dean. He gave the hunter a slight frown. He didn't know what had led them to this moment, but it still felt odd to him. He wasn't sure he wanted to get in the middle of this any further.
