The Warframe community has hit the $50k donation goal set forth by the devs. I find it amazing that our community has it the donation goal already. It’s crazy what we can do when we come together and put our minds to it. However, I will still be raising money because frankly I haven’t received any donations yet, and it is an amazing cause to support.

It is also kinda personal for me because my mom had breast tumors when I was a kid. Luckily it wasn’t cancer, but it could have easily been. Cancer is really messed up and these organizations can use all the funding they can get.

I can’t believe this day has finally come.

I started this channel as a side project a few weeks ago. I never in a million years thought that it would ever go anywhere. I thought to myself that if I were to ever hit Twitch Affiliate that it would take months. Needless to say, I was extremely pessimistic about the entire thing.

Boy was I wrong.

I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all of you lovely people that have come out to my streams. I have met so many nice people since I have started this little venture of mine. I can’t believe how welcoming this community has been, and how supportive my fellow small-time streamers are. I want to thank each and every one of you for the follows, the lurks, and the great times so far. You all continue to inspire me to keep at this.

So, Now I gotta explain why I didn’t do my Tennogen stream this week.

As you may or may not know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Digital Extremes/Warframe have decided to partner with the Prince Margaret Cancer Centere in Toronto in order to raise funds for their Quest to Conquer Cancer campaign. Plus, as a Warframe community if we donate enough overall, we will unlock goodies ingame.

Many content creators in the community have signed up in order to stream to also raise funds on behalf of Digital Extremes. Since I have been growing on Twitch, I thought that for this month every Warframe stream I do will be in support of this charity. So, Friday’s stream went from Tennogen to a Charity Stream.

Now although my viewer metrics were okay, we didn’t get any donations that day. Which sucks but it’s understandable. After all, I am still a small streamer. So, I will continue to promote and try to raise money for this cause throughout the month on all my scheduled Warframe streams. (Wednesdays and Fridays.)

 It would seem in my haste to get stuff done this week I may or may not have accidentally let my Adobe CC subscription run out. Oops. Real talk I legitimately hate the fact that this software is subscription based now. I remember back in 2012 when the CS6 Master Collection was the good stuff and it only cost you that initial purchase.

 So, some of you may ask: Why don’t you just buy a CC sub again? Well I can’t currently because I just dumped all my money into my bills for the month. So, I’m really feelin’ that broke college lifestyle once again. If worse comes to worse, I can dig around for my CS6 disc and pray that it is still activated and that it still works properly on the latest Windows 10. But that might take a hot minute.

Also, on another note:

I’ve been trying to reach out to DE about PBRing my Sharpshooter Vectis Skin. It’s almost been a year since I’ve been in contact with the art team. I’ve made all the requested changes to my PBR pass and then things seemed to just poof off the radar.

If you don’t know what I mean by PBRing: the old textures in the game used an outdated system. I made my original skin with the old traditional texture system in mind, hence the poor color customization and pseudo colorable metallics. Back then we didn’t have the Tennogen tool to preview our work somewhat in-engine. So that skin won the contest with basically sub-standard quality.

I’ve fixed most if not all issues with the PBR pass. Metallics color way better. The entire diffuse map takes colors properly. The overall look of the skin is also much better. Matte surfaces appear matte (shocking!), etc. I also tweaked the emissive map to look better.

So, I’ve been giving it some thought. I’m tempted to make this Nidus helmet an Excalibur skin.

I say this because the base sculpt basically looks like an infested Excalibur. It would work thematically. However, would it be extremely lazy for me to do this instead of reworking the original vision? I’m torn. I’m not sure what I should do. On the one hand, I have ideas on how to redo the helmet to be a better fit for Nidus and stand out from the others, but on the other, I feel as though this has decent potential for a full body sculpt on Excalibur.
