His moustache twitched at the backhanded comment Weiss so coldly delivered. "Maybe that's because I took after you." How could she not see that everything he did was to prolong their family's power, standing, and well-being??

"Perhaps I have not been the best example." Jacques' hand itched to slap some respect across this insolent girl's mouth. "But I can hardly imagine how a drunkard living in the woods like some savage is any better of a role model." He approached Weiss's chest of drawers, upon which sat a photo taken at the cretin's shack of the two enjoying a sunset on the porch over iced tea. That brute had some nerve kidnapping his heiress.

Her eyes widen as he reached for the picture on her dresser, one of the few items she had with her from her time in Patch. It was a precious memory and only her father would tear to shreds. "It wasn't all that bad." Completely ignoring the tone in her fathers voice. Qrow wasn't ideal, sure, even she had her hesitations about living with him. But anywhere was better than being shackled to the manor she was supposed to call home. "But he made a far batter father than you. Even if he had his moments, he was still attentive and cared." She knew she should stop talking, rubbing salt to the wound would only make matters worse and he could think of a far better punishment than what he's giving out.

She was right, Jacques could have chosen any number of worse punishments for her. Yet this was the one that felt fitting. Let the punishment fit the crime.

"Oh, I absolutely can, and I am." Felt good to have things under control once more. "I pay for your Scroll and it's network plan. It isn't as though I'm taking your Scroll outright and the Vale tower is down anyway." Whatever messages she might have been able to send to those hangers-on would stop. "You can contact anyone from anywhere else." He folded the picture of Weiss and Qrow into his breast pocket. "But I will not have you associating with the scum of Vale any longer."
