"I should not have to explain what it is to everyone." it'd be like 2-3 lines at max in the rules if you were to explain that it doesnt mean big system. you don't need to give an essay. i understand why you'd feel drained to explain it, but saying
"rule X: do not call yourself a Polyfragmented System if you do not have DID. Remember, Polyfragmented means a specific type of system, not the number of members you have. If you call yourself Polyfragmented for having over 100 systems members, that's misusing the term."
that's it. that's all u have to say. if they give u shit then ignore them.
also, yeah, i think that considering system as exclusively medical is a sysmedicalist thing (as sysmed means system medicalist, medicalizing systemhood). like, as a primarily trauma-based system, we enjoy referring to ourselves as a system in a non medical way / not referring to the "dissociated parts" definition. it doesn't have to be medical, as it's a word that encompasses several types of plurality.
i sent the second ask out of discomfort after realizing that you fit that definition of sysmedicalist, and retracting my statement in the first ask of "you don't wanna medicalize all of systemhood or smth, and that endogenic systems are still real systems", because the way you have worded your about made me presume that you DO believe systemhood is medicalist and that endogenic systems are not really systems / are vastly different than traumagenic systems (even tho there's nuances and there are lots of DID/OSDD having bodies that may have vastly different experiences, including some not considering themself a system / plural at all or preferring parts language over individuals language, which we (as a trauma based individuals-language-preferring system) cannot relate to, even if we'd fit under having DID/OSDD if diagnosed, and would (in a sysmed's eyes) have more in common with than non-disordered systems.)
i would apologize for the rant but if you're actually upset abt this ask u can delete it i wont be mad lol
Not really gunna respond to all this except for one part. I am saying the word system is a medical term. To me systemhood (as you put it) and plurality are the same damn thing. It’s the word system that is medical not the damn experience. There are other words that the endo community have come up with to explain the experiences anyways. Like plurality. It’s the damn word I’m talking about. I explained that in my last response. I am not talking about having multiple people in one body. Just the word system. The word.
