"Oh I think some of the ideas were leading in that direction." Jasper shook his head. It wasn't like he was going to our Ms. Cruella and her intense list of ideas. At least by name - that would be...unprofessional of him.

Jasper was not a gossip - out right but the man did like to talk.

"I think the worst of it was everyone needed to resubmit for a license. Take the drivers test and all with most strict rules." Jaspers eyes fluttered. "Although I do think some people should be reevaluated...I've seen a couple seniors taking the corners a bit quick." A small joke. The senior citizens around town were rather mild compared to London. "No but I think some folks around here would rather ban all drivers than find a legitimate safer option."

"Retests are a smart idea but everyone? You might just have a riot on your hands." Sylvia teased.

When he first moved into Amanda’s, there had definitely been a box or two that got shoved into a storage closet. They’d been too busy to get to those things at the time and then they’d just slipped Damian’s mind, since he was in the thicket of his residency. Thankfully, Amanda was a responsible sort of person so she did get to them a few weeks later.

Damian wasn’t sure if he’d remember this time around.

He also did not want to think of Amanda or rather, the lack of her in his life, so he just smiled at his new neighbor.

She couldn't make fun od him for that but she managed a chuckle as well.

"Oh, that sounds like a wonderful time! I've been so bad about sitting down to read recently, but I did read this fun book where the woman was a cake baker for weddings. Savor something."

Probably.

"But at least running in the outdoors is always nice. People use the trails, but overall it's a lot easier to find your own pace and go where you want than in a local gym."

Hunger Games and Fahrenheit 451 weren't really post-apocalyptic. They were dystopian...and a lot of dystopias took place after the apocalypse! But Charlie wanted--widespread, horrible, traumatic global disaster.

"Like War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells? Only not that one, I've read that one," said Charlie. "I'll take really uh, whatever you have!"

Of course, when she messed up, she was likely to be one of the first to be looked at. That part was not so lovely. "At least now in the modern times it is. But tell me about you. What brings you out so late?"

“I think we are good to go!” Stepping out she ensured she used the cover to keep them both safe from the rain. “You have any recommendations for sports romance?” Collette quickly asked. Sylvia would have to know some right? “I heard hockey romance was all the new rage! I really should tap into that!”

Mal was a hockey player after all.

"You work at the library?" He asked, making the assumption that she looked a little too old to be a student, and that anything else would have made it very odd to be going there simply to feed students.

"I am, a librarian. I guess it sounds a little suspicious that im just trying to feed a bunch of college kids huh?"

"Oh no you don't..." Jasper wasn't going to really stop her. It was his own impatience that brought him here. This wasn't the first of the last book he was requesting.

The smoke flicked at the back of his vertebrae trolling at his lack of ability to wait. You know mate you've got to wait for the call. Now you've got her doin more work for ya.

"Thank you Sylvia." Jasper smiled as he leaned back in his chair.

The matter of Town Hall wasn't anything private - if anything it would do him some justice to really engage more with the community. "I am sure you're away of the crash that took out our local salon?" Jasper pressed his lips thin. "I have been taking most calls and meetings. You know speaking with our concerned citizens and jotting down every idea for progress." His eyes rolled playfully. "Even if they are a bit wild."

"You cant say wild and not expect me to ask what some of the suggestions are. Remove all cars? Make it a purely walking city."

"Uh, I was wondering what post-apocalyptic fiction you have available?"

"Well lets see, are you looking for newer? Or do you want to be nostalgic and go for hunger games, Fahrenheit 451, oh wait what type of apocalypse?"

"No, I'm actually hiding. I don't want to talk to any of the other lecturers in my department right now because my brain can't handle our usualy conversation topics right now, so I can't sit in my office and grade assignments." Mads said. "But they won't look in the library to chat."

She paused.

"Just quietly you know. Cant disrupt all the studying students."

Ren was constantly searching for new little shiny things that might hold Martin's attention even though they weren't actively courting anymore, of course, because they were married. It didn't change that they liked to surprise him with the strangest things; and around the market that usually came in the form of little carved creatures of things crafted together with yarn and bright colors.

Bright colors being a preference given that month, yes.

Ren had just been wandering a while, not finding anything that really seemed fascinating enough at that point, and hadn't even noticed at first when someone tried to grab their attention as they passed one of the stalls.

She was vaguely familiar; it took a moment for them to recognize her from occasionally at the Pride U library; half the time they couldn't find Sorrel on campus he was in some corner with a pile of books.

"Hmn?" They must have missed what she said but did slow to a stop.

But she to commit, what if she bought too many flavors and loved the first one but then it was just gone, what if she saved what she thought would be the best till the end and it turned out to be terrible.

There was so much pressure that she had to crowd source information.

"Oh you have to forgive me. It is almost second nature to come off with such formalities!" Jasper knew it was enstilled in him - the Royal Navy did not play around with unproper greetings. "Old military habits do die hard."

Pointing to the open seat next to her he tilted his head with a small smile. "You mind if I sit?" Jasper pulled the chair out.

"My day has been rather uneventful I must say. I decided to swing by to see if my order from London had come in. I reckon I am just a little impatient." Brushing his hands over dress shirt he swatted at invisible dirt before finally taking a seat. "Had some rather eventful meetings over at town hall - so was hoping to grab my book and head to the park."

"Ah- yes if you didn't get a call then very likely then it's not ready but that doesn't mean I can't check and make sure." Perhaps it was logged in but it hadn't made it to the second step.

"Is everything okay?"

"It's all right, its a slow part of the afternoon and the bread I'm working on is in the proving stage. Nothing for me to do but let time do its thing which makes this the perfect time to chat. What kinds of books do you have there?"

"Mainly romance. I've been trying to get back into fantasy but nothing has really struck my fancy yet."

Shang hummed. "Yeah can't say I'd blame you there. Bad weather just has me turn to my personal gym and a treadmill. But I really prefer to run outside. It's way more interesting."

"Toby?!" Basil called, breaking into a light jog with a caustic sigh as he strained his eyes to try and spot where the dog had got to this time. "Oh come on buddy," he chastised, mostly to himself. He should have seen the warning signs, when Toby suddenly started sniffing and staring off into the distance like that. He'd got a scent of something. Exactly what, Basil would have to find him to know.

"There you are!" He cried, seeing the dog pawing at someone's leg rudely. "Toby! Sit! Stop that-" He ran over, slipping the leash back onto the dog's collar.

"I'm terribly sorry," he said, shaking his head as he looked up at the person apologetically. "He got a scent of something and then just was off-"

What if someone was mad that she put her hand on their dog even if he was the one that put his paws on her first.

His owner grabbing his collar made her finally take a breath.

"No worries, I just wasn't sure what to really do?" Sylvia questioned lowering her arms and as such her container of carrot muffins.

"Does he like carrots? It's a new recipe so I was going to kind of use the students at the library as taste testers.... if they wanted to."

With some bad new that it had not arrived he decided to mozy around the shelves killing some time. Wrapping around to a cluster of tables he noticed a semi familiar face. It had become a custom to recognize everyone in the community now that he had a seat on the council.

"Ms Marpole!" Jasper raised a hand to signal a wave. "Hope the afternoon is treating you well."
