Donut the dog

Summary: It’s just another quiet night with your cop boyfriend, Simon Riley — the kind of man who swears he can’t sleep unless you’re in his arms. But when your German shepherd, Donut, starts barking in the middle of the night, Simon’s instincts kick in.

 You and your cop boyfriend, Simon Riley, were getting ready to sleep, and that man just could not sleep without you by his side. He believed he slept better with you in his arms. He was relieved when you came inside the bedroom. “Took you too long, I missed you already,” he said as you approached the bed. You couldn’t help but laugh. “Missed me? I was just gone for a few minutes.” He groaned. “A few minutes too long.” He tucked you in and held you in his arms before turning off the light. “Goodnight, love.” You smiled. “Goodnight, handsome.”

A few hours went by, and you were already asleep. Simon was asleep too, but he woke up when he heard the dog bark — Donut, the German shepherd. Donut never barked at night unless something was happening, and Simon did not have a good feeling about this. He was thinking about the worst-case scenario: an intruder must have broken into the house. He looked at you, and he was glad you were still asleep, because he didn’t want you to face the possible danger. He got up slowly and then went to his safe to get his firearm. He then walked down the stairs silently, a skill he had learned from his service in the military. The sight was not what he was expecting.

He saw the dog biting, refusing to let go of a figure wearing a black hoodie and gloves. The intruder was on the ground, screaming for his life, and Simon immediately put his hand on his mouth. “Shut the fuck up, unless you want to die.” Simon dragged the intruder outside, and you can imagine what he did to him.

He went back inside and checked Donut — the dog — for injuries. He was relieved when he confirmed that Donut was okay. Simon knelt down and scratched behind the dog’s ears. “Good boy, you did exactly what you were supposed to.” The dog wagged its tail, finally relaxing. He gave Donut multiple treats as a reward.

How they meet

 Summary: You move in with your cop boyfriend, Simon Riley, who surprises you with a German Shepherd to keep you safe.

 It doesn’t take too long before you start to date Simon and move in with him, who, despite his gruff exterior was the sweetest man ever. He bought you flowers from time to time and even with his tight schedule as a cop, made time for you, always taking you out on dates and showering you with gifts.
