Clark loves the way you smell!
⤷ no smut, just kissing
⤷ Clark absolutely loves the way you smell, when you get out of the shower, when you’re about to leave for work, and especially when you’re in bed with him.
Clark has always been like this with you.
It started small. Subtle enough that you almost didn’t notice it at first. A lingering hug. His nose brushing your neck for just a second too long. A quiet inhale when you passed by him in the hallway.
Now, it’s impossible to miss.
The nights you shower before settling in are his favorite. You come out warm and clean, skin glowing faintly from lotion and body oil, hair still damp at the ends. You don’t even make it far before he’s reaching for you, arms opening like it’s instinct.
“C’mere,” he murmurs.
Whiny
clark kent x fem!reader
Summary: Clark gets home from work and he’s in a bad mood. He kind of takes it out on you by having an attitude, so of course you have to fix that.
cw: smut mdni, handjob (m receiving), slight mommy kink (?), kissing
wc: 1k?
Notes: uhm so I haven’t posted in a while. So sorry. Idk what this was I wrote it in like 2 days. But Clark is whiny and subby in this, so I kinda like it. Not my best work but enjoy!
Clark gets home later than usual.
You hear the door before you see him. Keys tossed a little too hard onto the counter. Shoes kicked off instead of placed neatly where they usually go. He doesn’t call out to you like he normally does.
When he finally steps into the living room, his shoulders are tight, jaw set, brows furrowed, glasses crooked. He drops onto the couch beside you with a sigh that borders on a huff.
You glance over.
“Long day?”
“Mhm,” he mutters.
clark luvs ur titties ˙𐃷˙
he really doesn’t think it’s weird.
that’s the worst part.
you try to call him out once, half-laughing, half-scandalized, like “clark. baby. again?” and he just blinks up at you from where he’s comfortably nuzzled between your tits like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
like he wasn’t just mouthing at your nipple for the past five minutes with the softest, most annoyingly content hum in his throat. like you weren’t fully clothed two seconds ago and he didn’t just part your shirt with two fingers and a single-minded sense of purpose that made your knees weak.
“what?” he mumbles, all doe-eyed and warm-palmed and completely unrepentant.
like you’re the weirdo here.
like it’s not objectively insane how fast he goes from “casual couch cuddle” to “nursing kink.” like he doesn’t seek your chest like it’s a grounding point, something instinctual and compulsive, something built into the wiring of his fucking alien brain.
like he doesn’t suck on you in his sleep sometimes, half-conscious, slow little laps of his tongue and a breathy whine when he wakes up in your arms, face buried in your cleavage like a man starved.
and god help you if you’re actually naked.
god help you if you’re sitting on top of him, hips slow and grinding, and he’s already panting, glassy-eyed, barely holding it together—because the second you lean forward, the second your chest brushes his mouth, the second your nipple even grazes his bottom lip—
he latches.
without shame. without hesitation. wraps an arm around your waist, holds you still, mouth warm and suckling and reverent like he’s been waiting for this, like your tits are oxygen and he’s been drowning without them.
you go limp. every time.
because he’s strong—so fucking strong—but gentle with it, like he knows exactly how fragile you are. how soft. how easy you melt for him.
he groans into your skin. rubs big hands up your spine. kisses the swell of your chest like a prayer.
“my favorite part,” he murmurs.
like that’s normal. like he’s normal.
he’s not. you know this. but it’s hard to argue when he’s making out with your tits like they’re the main course and dessert, when his mouth is warm and sweet and his tongue circles slow, when he sucks just hard enough to make you gasp and mumbles, “good girl,” with a sleepy smile and a grind of his hips like he knows you’re about to soak his dick just from this.
oral fixation, your ass.
he’s in love.

Girll, I love you and can I ask a question? Is that second part of “First Kiss” coming?❤️ No hurries and don’t feel obligated!💜❤️🩹
Yess, I already have it written, so maybe it’ll be out by the 15th? Hopefully 🤞🏼
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I’ve been working on multiple papers for school 💔 but dw this weekend I’ll start writing some more
corrupted green
warning(s): explicit 18+, weed, virgin!clark, losing innocence, friends to lovers, p in v, bareback creampie, porn with feelings
When you met Clark he was a virgin that didn’t even know what smoking weed was.
Now that he’s hung out with you as much as he has he’s turned into a pothead. A pothead that doesn’t wanna be a virgin anymore. (6.8k)
-
Taking Clark’s innocence was one of the better, more exuberant highlights of your entire year. This all had first started with turning him into a simple pothead.
Before you, he’d never even tried smoking weed before. Never even considered what it was about smoking the plant that had people so up in arms about it. Strong opinions either negative or positive, and Clark was more naive than he tended to lead on.
The first time he caught you smoking he’d come over on a whim with only a text to warn you. A text you had blissfully ignored, sitting on your back porch taking tokes here and there without your phone in sight. You felt all your anxious worries melt away with a airy light headedness while you coughed and reached for your juice, choking on another cough in your throat when Clark slid your sliding glass back door open and appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
“Hey. Smells weird out here,” he notes, sniffing the air before scoping up the state of you, looking up and down and pausing at the lit joint still between two of your fingers. “What’s that?”
You answer with more rushed coughs which only makes him worry, coming over to pat your back and grab your juice to bring it to your grasp before genuinely looking at you so worried and so pure you wondered if he even knew what was going on.
“Fuck, I’m fine, I’m fine. Still cough sometimes with this strain,” you clear your throat, gulping down a swallow or two with lidded eyes while Clark stares inquisitively.
“Is that a cigarette?”
“Uh, it’s a type of a cigarette, sure.”
Why is this so good 🥹
I don’t wanna sound too demanding but if I’m not mistaken you were also writing an academic rivals fic and a surf break fic? If you’re already looking through your notes might as well check if you have these too 🥰🫠
Yess, I’ll check. It was a while ago so idk if I still have them. But if I do, I can edit and post them!!!
i’m so so happy you’re back and to hear that you’re doing well!!🤍 how’s part 2 of first kiss coming along? i neeeeed it😭
If I find it I’ll post it! But I have no idea where it is, it’s somewhere in my notes… I wrote it months ago.

so the second part of first kiss is coming soon? 💕
Omg I forgot abt this… but I think I already wrote the 2nd part in July (or somewhere near that time). If I find it I’ll post it!!
WORK CRUSH
Summary: You and Clark host dinner for the daily planet at his place. You two cook a few hours before and you find out that he actually has a crush on you! He’s embarrassed and shy about it… but everyone shows up at hangs out. He tells you he likes you later on, and you leave a kiss on his cheek. He can’t stop thinking about it!
WC: idk… 3-4k?
Warnings: None, just a little cheek kiss.
Notes: This is part 2 of Work Crush!
You text him first.
What should I bring? And what time should I come over?
The reply comes almost immediately.
Just bring yourself.
I already went grocery shopping. We’ve got everything we need :)
Maybe around 4? That gives us time.
You smile at your phone like an idiot.
Okay :)
See you at 4.
A few seconds pass.
Looking forward to it.
There’s a smiley face after that too. Small. Soft. Very Clark.
He hears you before he sees you.
Your footsteps on the stoop, the faint sound of you adjusting your bag, the pause before you knock. He opens the door almost too fast, then stops himself, straightens, and tries to look normal.
“Hey,” he says.
You’re standing there in jeans and a nice shirt, hair down, familiar and somehow different outside the office. He registers it all at once and has to actively remind himself to keep breathing. You look really pretty. He thinks it immediately, instinctively, and then immediately panics about it.
“Hi, Clark.” you say, smiling at him like you always do.
He steps aside. “Come in.”
His place is quiet and warm, the kind of space that feels lived-in without being cluttered. Books everywhere. Stacked neatly, spilling from shelves, a few piled on the coffee table like he got distracted mid-read. A record player sits by the window with a vinyl half out of its sleeve. Plants catch the afternoon light, healthy and well cared for.
You take it in slowly. “This is really nice, Clark.”
He shuts the door behind you, suddenly hyper-aware that you’re here. In his space. “Thanks. I- uh- sorry, you can put your shoes-”
“I see it,” you say, already bending down.
You slip your shoes off and place them on the rack by the door like it’s second nature.
Something about that hits him harder than anything else today.
It feels domestic. Familiar. Like you belong here.
His ears warm. He clears his throat. “Kitchen’s this way.”
You follow him in, and suddenly the space feels smaller. Not cramped. Just full. He moves around you easily, grabbing bowls, pulling out ingredients, handing you things without even asking first. You fall into it naturally, like you’ve done this together before.
“You sure you don’t need help?” you ask, watching him measure flour without looking.
He smiles, a little proud. “My ma taught me how to cook. If I let you do all the work she’ll scold me.”
You laugh. “That’s so sweet, Clark.”
You start on the pasta while he works on pastries, and before long you’re moving around each other without thinking. Passing behind him. Reaching across the counter. Elbows brushing. At one point, you lean lightly against his side to grab a spoon, and he stills for half a second before forcing himself to relax.
He smells you. Warm. Familiar. Comforting. Something he associates with safety without even realizing it.
The scent settles into the air, into his couch, his kitchen, his clothes. He hopes, irrationally, that it stays.
“You’re really good at this,” you say, watching his hands work the dough.
He shrugs, bashful but honest. “I like cooking for people.”
“For me?”
His eyes flick up. Hold yours. Just for a beat longer than usual.
“Y-yes,” he says quietly.
Something shifts.
You talk as you cook. About work. About Jimmy. About nothing important at all. He’s more relaxed here, more himself. He doesn’t stutter much when it’s just you. His voice is calm, thoughtful, well-spoken. He listens when you talk, really listens, like every word matters.
At one point, you laugh at something small, and he just watches you. The curve of your smile. The way you tilt your head when you’re thinking. He thinks about how easy this feels. Too easy.
He imagines this happening all the time. You in his kitchen. Your perfume on his clothes. Your voice filling the quiet. Cooking. Eating. Watching movies on his couch. Sharing space.
Sharing a bed.
The thought hits him hard and unexpected, and he has to look away, heart thudding. He tells himself to calm down. To not get ahead of himself. He’s almost thirty, for God’s sake.
Still.
When you brush past him again, closer this time, he can’t help the small smile that pulls at his mouth. The one that shows his dimples. The one he gets when he’s flustered and happy all at once.
“You okay?” you ask softly.
“Yeah,” he says. “I’m okay.”
And he is.
More than okay.
He just hopes, quietly and selfishly, that this isn’t a one-time thing. That you’ll keep coming back. That someday, this will feel normal.
That someday, you’ll stay.
For now, it’s enough that you’re here. That your laughter fills his kitchen. That your scent lingers in the air.
He’ll hold onto that for a while.
By the time the clock on Clark’s stove reads just past seven, everything is ready.
The food is laid out carefully on the table, dishes arranged with more thought than strictly necessary. Pasta steaming gently. Pastries cooling on a rack. Plates stacked neatly, silverware aligned like Clark couldn’t help himself. He keeps stepping back to look at it all, then leaning in again to fix something that doesn’t actually need fixing.
You watch him do it, amused.
“It looks perfect,” you say.
He exhales, the tension in his shoulders easing just a bit. “You think so?”
“Mhm, we did good.”
That earns you a small smile, the kind that pulls at his dimples without him realizing. He straightens, pushes his glasses up, then gives up when they slip back down.
“People should start arriving any minute,” he says.
“Mm-hm.” You don’t move yet.
Neither does he.
Instead, he drifts back into the kitchen with you, like you’re both subconsciously avoiding the moment where the house fills up. The kitchen feels warmer now, quieter in a different way. The work is done. There’s nothing left to distract either of you.
Clark opens the fridge and hesitates, then reaches for a bottle of wine.
“I forgot I even had this,” he says. “It’s been in there for a while. If you want some.”
“I’ll have a little,” you say.
He nods, careful and deliberate as he pours, like he’s concentrating too hard on not spilling. He hands you a glass first, fingers brushing yours again. This time neither of you pulls away too quickly.
You take a sip. “It’s good.”
He tries some himself, smaller than your sip. He swallows, then nods thoughtfully. “Yeah. It is.”
You lean against the counter, glass in hand, watching him across the small space. He looks relaxed in a way he doesn’t always allow himself to be. Sweater sleeves pushed slightly up. Curls falling wherever they want. Glasses still a little crooked.
Comfortable.
Happy.
You ask, lightly, “So. Do you host people often, Clark?”
The question isn’t really about hosting. You both know it.
His reaction is immediate.
He looks down. His brows furrow just slightly, like he’s trying to think through the safest possible answer. His ears warm. He takes another sip of wine, like it might help.
“Not really,” he admits. “Just… sometimes. When it feels right.”
You hum softly. “Does it feel right tonight?”
He swallows again, this time not from the wine.
“Yeah,” he says, quieter. “It does.”
You smile at him over the rim of your glass, and that’s when he really struggles. His gaze flicks up to you for half a second, then away again. He shifts his weight, fingers tightening around the stem of his glass.
He’s trying to hide it. He really is.
He’s just terrible at it.
“You okay?” you ask, gently teasing now.
“Yeah,” he says quickly. Then softer, more honest, “I just… get a little nervous.”
“About what?”
He hesitates. His eyes lift again, riskier this time, glassy and open. “You.”
The word lands between you, warm and quiet.
Your chest tightens, but before you can respond, there’s a knock at the door.
Clark startles, then lets out a breathy laugh, shaking his head at himself. “That’ll be everyone.”
He sets his glass down carefully, straightens, smooths his sweater like it suddenly matters, and heads for the door.
You watch him go, heart still racing.
He opens it with an easy smile, voice warm and welcoming as the first people step inside. Greetings fill the room. Shoes by the door. Familiar laughter spilling into his space.
The house changes instantly, but something lingers beneath the noise.
That look he gave you.
That word.
You take another small sip of wine and smile to yourself, knowing that Clark will try to not bring it up later. But of course you will.
The apartment fills up quickly.
People greet each other, coats pile near the door, voices overlap in that familiar, comfortable way that only coworkers who spend too much time together can manage. Someone compliments the food almost immediately. Then another. And another.
Clark accepts every thank you like it’s too much. He nods, smiles, waves it off. “It was nothing.” “We just wanted everyone to eat.” “She did most of the work.” He always redirects the praise to you, like he’s more comfortable letting it land on you instead.
You notice.
You also notice the way his eyes keep finding you.
You’ll be in the middle of a conversation, laughing at something Jimmy says, and you’ll feel it. That awareness. When you glance over, Clark is already looking at you. Not staring exactly. Just checking. Like he needs to make sure you’re still there.
When your eyes meet, he looks down immediately, suddenly very invested in his plate or the conversation beside him. He resumes talking like nothing happened, voice steady, posture relaxed. But you catch the faint pink creeping into his cheeks.
It happens again.
And again.
Each time, softer. Quieter. Like a habit he can’t break.
You don’t mind. You like that he’s shy about it. That he doesn’t try to hide how much he cares, even when he’s embarrassed by it. There’s something deeply comforting about how gentle he is with his feelings. Like he treats them as something fragile.
Dinner winds down slowly. Plates empty. Compliments continue. Someone asks for the recipe. Clark promises to text it later, then immediately forgets who he promised.
Eventually, everyone migrates to the couch, the TV flicking on to some game that half the room pretends to care about. Clark sits at the edge at first, polite and attentive, laughing at the right moments. You sit nearby, close enough that your knees almost touch.
Lois checks her phone and groans. “I should go,” she says, standing. “Early morning.”
She hugs you, then Clark, whispering something in his ear that makes him flush instantly. You don’t ask, but his eyes glance to you.
After she leaves, the apartment settles into a quieter hum. Comfortable. Easy.
When the game hits a commercial break, you stand. “I’m going to help clean up.”
Clark looks up immediately. “I’ll help.”
Of course he will.
You carry plates into the kitchen together, moving around each other with the same ease as earlier. He rinses. You stack. The sounds of the living room fade into background noise.
For a moment, neither of you speaks.
Then you say it, gently, like you’re asking about the weather.
“Why are you nervous around me?”
Clark freezes.
Not dramatically. Just enough that you notice. His hands still under the running water. His shoulders lift slightly, then drop.
“I’m not,” he says automatically.
You glance at him. “Clark.”
He huffs out a small breath, a little nervous. “Maybe a little.”
“Why?”
He shrugs, eyes fixed on the plate he’s rinsing. “I don’t know. You’re just… you.”
You scoff softly, not unkind. “That’s not an answer.”
He turns the water off, sets the plate aside carefully like he needs something to do with his hands. His face is warm now, cheeks visibly pink. His brows knit together, the way they do when he’s choosing his words carefully.
You wait. You don’t push. You don’t tease.
That’s why he feels safe enough to speak.
“I just… like you,” he says quietly.
The words are simple. Honest. Terrifying.
He keeps going before he can talk himself out of it, voice soft, almost careful. “I like you a lot. And I know I’m not great at hiding it. I try to be normal about it, but… you make it hard.”
He finally looks at you then. Really looks at you.
His eyes are wide, earnest, almost glassy. Like he’s bracing himself for something. His shoulders are slightly hunched, posture smaller than usual, like he’s making himself less imposing on purpose.
“I don’t want to make you uncomfortable,” he adds quickly. “And I don’t expect anything. I just… when I’m around you, I get nervous because I want to do everything right. And I never feel like I am.”
Your chest tightens.
He swallows, throat bobbing. “I’m almost thirty and I feel like a kid with a crush. It’s embarrassing.”
It’s not.
It’s the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.
You step a little closer, close enough that he can smell you again, close enough that he has to fight the instinct to lean in.
“It’s not embarrassing,” you say softly. “It’s sweet… and cute.”
He lets out a breath he’s been holding. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
His shoulders relax just a bit. His eyes soften. The tension drains from his face, leaving him open and vulnerable in a way he rarely allows himself to be.
“Oh uhm, okay” he murmurs.
The moment lingers, warm and quiet, before someone in the living room laughs loudly and the spell eases just enough.
Clark clears his throat, pushing his glasses up again even though they don’t need it. A small, shy smile tugs at his mouth.
“Thanks,” he says.
You smile back. “Anytime.”
And when you turn back to the dishes, you catch him watching you again.
This time, he doesn’t look away quite as fast.
People start leaving in twos and threes.
Someone thanks you again for the food. Someone offers to help clean up. Someone makes a joke about how you both should host more often. Clark smiles, nods, waves it all away with gentle insistence.
“That’s okay, really.”
“We’ve got it.”
“Get home safe.”
He means it politely. But underneath, there’s something else entirely.
He wants the apartment quiet again. He wants the sound of voices gone so he can hear yours clearly. He wants the night to belong to the two of you the way the afternoon almost did.
Eventually, the door closes for the last time.
The silence settles slowly, like the apartment is exhaling.
Clark stands there for a second longer than necessary, listening. Then he turns to you, cheeks already faintly pink, posture soft.
“Well,” he says quietly, “that went… good.”
“It really did.”
You both smile.
You gather plates together without talking much, moving easily around each other again. The sink fills with warm water and soap. Clark rolls his sleeves up, focused, careful. You dry and stack. Your shoulders brush occasionally. Neither of you moves away.
He’s quieter than before. Not distant. Just… full.
He keeps stealing glances at you when he thinks you won’t notice. Watching the way you move through his kitchen like you belong there. Watching your hands. Your smile. The way you hum under your breath when you’re focused.
His heart is still racing from what he said earlier. From how close you stood. From the fact that you didn’t pull away.
He swallows.
There’s something else he needs to say.
He waits until the living room is completely quiet, until the only sound is the water running and plates clinking softly.
Then, barely above a murmur, he speaks.
“Do you… like me too?”
The question is fragile. Careful. Like it might shatter if he says it too loudly.
He doesn’t look at you right away. His eyes stay on the dish in his hands, brows drawn together slightly. His grip tightens, then relaxes.
“I mean,” he adds quickly, almost apologetic, “you don’t have to answer if you don’t want to. I just- I thought I should ask. Since I told you.”
You don’t hesitate.
You step a little closer, so close that he feels your warmth at his side.
“I like you,” you say softly. “I really do.”
Clark freezes.
The words take a second to register. Then they hit him all at once.
His breath catches. His cheeks go bright pink, the color spreading fast. His shoulders lift unconsciously, like he doesn’t know where to put himself. He finally looks at you, eyes wide, glassy, openly stunned.
“You… you do?”
You nod, smiling. “Yeah, a lot.”
He laughs once, quietly, like the sound escaped him without permission. Then he presses his lips together, trying very hard to look composed.
“Oh,” he says. “Okay.”
He’s terrible at hiding it.
His ears are red. His smile is shy and crooked. He keeps pushing his glasses up even though they don’t need it. He goes quiet again, processing, heart hammering.
You giggle softly, your hand covering your mouth, unable to help it. “You’re adorable when you blush, you know.”
That does not help.
His face warms even more. He ducks his head, smiling despite himself. “S-stop…” he says with a soft laugh.
But he starts talking again after that. Slowly at first. Then more naturally. Asking you about your week. Telling you about something Jimmy said earlier that he forgot to mention. His voice steadies, but the softness and shyness stays.
The dishes finish quickly after that.
You dry your hands, sling your bag over your shoulder, and turn to him. “Thank you. For inviting me.”
He nods. “Thank you for coming.”
“I’ll text you when I get home.”
He smiles. “I’ll wait for it.”
You move toward the door, slipping your shoes back on. He follows, hands tucked into his pockets again, nervous energy returning now that the night is ending.
Just before you reach for the handle, he clears his throat.
“Hey,” he says.
You turn.
He hesitates, then pushes through, voice quiet but steady. “Do you think we could… do this again sometime? Just us.”
Your heart lifts.
“Yeah,” you say easily. “I’d like that.”
He swallows. “Maybe… stay longer. Or watch a movie. Something like that.”
“I’d love that.”
His smile is immediate. Soft. Unguarded.
You step forward before he can overthink it, wrapping your arms around him. He stiffens for half a second, then melts into the hug, arms coming up carefully, like he’s afraid to hold you too tightly.
You pull back just enough to press a quick, gentle kiss to his cheek.
When you do, you leave a faint mark of your lip gloss behind.
Clark is done for.
He stands there frozen, cheeks flaming, eyes wide, breath completely gone. His brain short-circuits. He knows this because he doesn’t say anything at all.
You smile at him, fond. “Goodnight, Clark.”
“G-goodnight,” he manages.
You leave, door clicking shut softly behind you.
Clark doesn’t move for a full minute.
Then he lifts a hand to his cheek, touching the spot where your kiss still lingers. He exhales shakily, smiling to himself like he just won the lottery.
He’ll absolutely die blushing over you.
And he’s never been happier.
The apartment is quiet in a way it wasn’t all evening.
Clark stands in the bedroom doorway for a moment, lights low, listening to nothing at all. No voices. No laughter. Just the steady hum of the city outside and his own heartbeat, which still hasn’t quite settled.
He changes slowly, deliberately, like he doesn’t want the night to end too fast.
He keeps his sweater on. He can’t bring himself to take it off yet.
He slips under the blankets, boxers brushing against the sheets, and exhales as the warmth surrounds him. The bed smells like clean laundry and something else now. Something softer. Familiar. You.
Your scent clings to his sweater, faint but unmistakable. It makes his chest ache in the gentlest way. He presses his face into the collar without thinking, breath hitching slightly when it still smells like you.
God.
He stares up at the ceiling, one arm tucked behind his head, the other resting over his chest. His mind replays the night on a loop. Your laugh in his kitchen. The way you said you liked him. The warmth of your hug. The kiss on his cheek.
He touches that spot again, smiling to himself.
His phone buzzes.
He grabs it immediately.
Home :)
Relief washes through him, instant and deep.
Good. I’m glad you made it safe.
Three dots appear. Disappear. Appear again.
I had a really nice time tonight.
Like… really nice.
His heart stutters. He smiles into the dark, cheeks already warming.
Me too.
I’m really glad you came.
Another pause.
Then:
So… next time
Instead of cooking, maybe we could go out?
Like dinner somewhere. And hang out after.
I think I’d like to call it a date, if that’s okay.
Clark goes completely still.
The word date echoes in his head, soft and terrifying and perfect.
His face heats up instantly. He rolls onto his side, buries half his face into his pillow, muffling a quiet, disbelieving laugh. He feels like he’s seventeen again. Like his chest might actually burst.
He forces himself to sit up just enough to type back.
That sounds perfect.
I’d really like that.
He hesitates, then adds more, fingers trembling just a little.
Maybe you could come over this weekend?
We could figure things out from here.
No pressure. Just… us.
The reply comes faster than he expects.
I’d love that.
Just us.
Clark exhales shakily and sinks back into the mattress, phone resting against his chest. His smile won’t go away. He doesn’t want it to.
He types one last thing.
Goodnight. Sleep well. <3
A beat.
Goodnight, Clark :)
He locks his phone and stares at the ceiling again, heart full in a way he’s never quite known before. He pulls the blanket up, curls slightly onto his side, sweater still warm with you.
For the first time in a long time, the future doesn’t feel heavy.
It feels hopeful.
And Clark Kent falls asleep smiling, surrounded by the quiet certainty that something good has finally begun.
I’m so sorry this took so long. Pls send me ideas for more fics or blurbs. I NEED ideas, my mind is blank. I’m not writing smut yet, since I haven’t written it in a long time. I’ll definitely do everything but explicit works (I’ll try to write some soon).
I hope you liked this part 2, because I think it’s soooo cute!!
OMGG, you’re really back?!! You are my favorite Luigi writer❤️
THANK YOUUU, and yes I’m finally back!! Dw I’ll still post for Luigi ❤️
WORK CRUSH
Summary: You and Clark work at The Daily Planet and it’s obvious he has a crush on you. He’s feeling risky today and decides to flirt with you a little more than usual. And of course Clark is shy and extremely sweet around you, and you just find it so cute.
Word Count: 2.5k
Warnings: None, just fluff!
Notes: This is my first short fic in a while (4 months), so…
You get to the office earlier than usual, which is saying something, because you’re always early. It’s the only time the building feels calm. No ringing phones. No printers jamming. No chaos leaking out of every department.
Just you, the hum of the lights, and the quiet smell of coffee drifting through the halls.
You balance a cardboard tray of cups in your hands, the same order you’ve memorized over the past year. Lois always gets something strong. Jimmy wants whatever tastes like candy. Perry doesn’t care as long as it’s hot. And Clark…
Clark gets exactly what he wants because… he’s Clark.
You place the cups on their respective desks one by one, saving his for last without even thinking about it.
He arrives a few minutes later with that soft shuffle he always has, like he’s trying not to take up space. His glasses are crooked the moment he walks in the door. He pushes them up with his knuckle the way he always does, even though they slide right back down a second later.
He spots you instantly.
He always does.
“Good morning,” he says, voice warm and shy, like the words get caught in his throat before he lets them out.
You turn in your chair, holding his cup up. “Morning, Clark.”
He perks up. It’s subtle, but real. Chest lifting. Shoulders straightening. Eyes lighting up behind slightly fogged lenses.
“For me?” he asks, even though it’s obvious.
“For you.”
His cheeks go faintly pink. “Thank you. Really. You didn’t have to.”
“You say that every time.”
“I mean it every time.”
His fingers brush yours when he takes the cup. It’s light, barely a touch, but the reaction is immediate. His eyes flit down. His shoulders tense. He doesn’t pull away because he doesn’t want to seem rude, but his voice catches just slightly when he says, “Smells good.”
You smile. “I know what you like.”
His gaze flicks up, just for a second. Direct eye contact. Reckless for him. You see the dimples start to form, the shy kind that appear when he’s trying not to grin too wide.
Then Jimmy barrels in from behind him, clapping him on the back hard enough to knock anyone else forward. Clark barely moves.
“Kent! Morning! You get your coffee from her again?”
Clark stammers a little. Tiny. Barely noticeable to most people, but you catch it every time.
“Uh, yeah. She’s just… thoughtful.” He tries to adjust his glasses again. They stay crooked.
Jimmy glances between the two of you. “It’s cute. Really cute. The whole coffee thing? Parents of the office.”
Clark’s eyes widen. He shakes his head way too fast. “No, we’re not— we just— she just—”
You step in before he melts into the floor.
“Jimmy, go find Lois before she starts yelling for you.”
Jimmy smirks like he knows everything, then wanders off.
Clark’s shoulders lower a full inch when he’s gone. “Sorry,” he murmurs.
“For what?”
“Being… like that.”
“You’re fine,” you say. And you mean it. “You don’t have to apologize for anything.”
He looks at you like that does something to him, like kindness knocks the wind out of him more than anything else.
Before he can find a new thing to be flustered about, Lois arrives, tossing her bag on her desk and giving you a knowing grin.
“You bring coffee?” she asks.
“Already on your desk,” you say.
She nods, impressed, then eyes Clark. “Kent, your glasses are crooked again.”
He touches the frames, flustered. “I… know.”
Lois shoots you a tiny smirk behind his back. You ignore her.
The office fills quickly after that. Phones start ringing. Chairs roll. Papers shuffle. The noise grows into its usual chaotic rhythm.
You settle in, reviewing drafts and catching small errors in every piece of writing. It’s routine. Familiar. You can work through it half asleep.
Except Clark keeps distracting you.
Not on purpose.
Just by being himself.
You hear his laugh drift across the bullpen when Jimmy says something ridiculous. You see him lean over a desk to help a new intern with formatting, gentle and patient even when she keeps forgetting where the toolbar is. You catch him glancing your way from time to time, like checking to see if you’re okay, or maybe checking if you’re looking at him.
He texts you once.
A picture of a dog tied outside a deli across the street. The dog is wearing a tiny raincoat.
He sends:
Saw him on the way in. Thought you’d like him.
You reply:
I LOVE him.
Clark sends back a quick:
:)
It’s easy. Natural. Like breathing.
Around noon you and Lois walk toward the break room, talking about weekend plans. As you pass Clark’s desk, you say his name without even thinking.
“Clark?”
He straightens immediately. Almost like a reflex.
“Yes?” His voice comes out too fast, too eager, but he sees your smile and relaxes. Shoulders dropping. Dimples softening into view.
“We’re ordering lunch for the office,” you tell him. “Any requests?”
He shakes his head. “I’ll eat anything. I trust you.”
Lois raises an eyebrow. “She means the restaurant, Kent, not your sense of adventure.”
Clark flushes again. “Right. Uh… whatever you want is fine.”
You laugh. “Okay. I’ll handle it.”
He nods, visibly relieved that he didn’t have to make a decision on the spot.
But then he glances up again. Braver this time.
“You look really… pretty today,” he says softly.
You blink. “Do I?”
He nods, eyes flicking away almost instantly like he’s embarrassed he said it. “I like blue on you. It suits you.”
Your stomach flips a little, which is ridiculous, because Clark Kent pays everyone compliments. He holds doors. He remembers birthdays. He brings extra snacks because he somehow knows who skipped breakfast.
But he never says things like that to anyone else.
Only you.
“Thanks,” you say gently.
His dimples show again. Small, but sincere.
The rest of the afternoon passes in a steady blur. Work. Notes. Conversations drifting across desks. Clark leaning close to Jimmy to whisper something funny. Lois reminding you she has gossip for later. Perry yelling at the layout team. The usual.
But every time you look up, Clark is looking too.
And every time you call his name, he answers before the second syllable leaves your mouth.
Kind. Attentive. A little shy. A little reckless when he forgets to be.
And completely unaware that he’s your favorite part of the entire building.
By the time five rolls around, the office feels drained in that classic end-of-day way. Computers shutting down. Coats thrown over arms. Jimmy yelling goodnight from across the bullpen while Lois mutters something about needing real food.
You gather your things and step into the hallway just as Clark pushes open the stairwell door with his shoulder. He spots you instantly, eyebrows lifting like he wasn’t expecting you but is glad you’re there.
“Heading out?” he asks, adjusting his slightly crooked glasses with one quick touch.
“Yeah,” you say. “You too?”
He nods, falling into step beside you like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
For a second, the silence is easy. The quiet kind that feels like its own conversation.
Then he clears his throat, voice careful. “Hey, I was thinking… since we kind of ended up planning office lunches by accident… maybe we should host one this Saturday.”
You glance over at him. “Where?”
He hesitates only a moment. “Um… maybe my place?”
Your lips twitch. “Clark Kent volunteering his own space for chaos?”
He gives a soft huff of laughter. “I don’t mind. Everyone’s nice. And Jimmy already broke something last week at the office, so he’ll probably behave.”
You grin. “Alright. Let’s do it.”
He nods, relieved. Then adds, quieter, “I was thinking… maybe we could cook something?”
“Yeah, I can cook something at home and bring it.”
“That’s not—” He stops himself, brows furrowing as he works up the courage. “I meant… maybe we could cook together. At my place. Before everyone comes.”
Your steps slow a fraction.
Cook together.
At his place.
He must realize how that sounds because the tips of his ears turn pink. His voice softens, almost apologetic. “I mean only if you want to. I just thought… it might be nice. And we work well together. And I’m not bad at cooking things. Usually.”
He glances away, like he expects you to tease him.
You don’t. You smile.
“I’d love that,” you say.
His head snaps toward you, hope flickering across his face before he tries to tame it. “Really?”
“Yeah. Really.”
He pushes his glasses up again even though they weren’t slipping. A nervous habit, clearly. “Okay. Good.”
You both step outside into the evening air, and the noise of the street fades into the background as you walk. He matches your pace exactly, hands tucked into his jacket pockets, posture relaxed in that way he reserves only for you.
He glances over. “Are you walking home?”
“Yeah. Lois isn’t going my direction today.”
Clark nods. “Can I walk you?”
Your heartbeat jumps, but you keep your voice steady. “Sure.”
He tries not to smile too wide at that. You see the dimples anyway.
As you walk, he tells you about his new camera, the one he saved up for, the one he’s been carrying everywhere like it might vanish if he puts it down.
“I’m still figuring out the settings,” he admits. “But I’ve been trying to take pictures of… things that make me happy.”
“What kind of things?”
He shrugs lightly, embarrassed but fond. “Dogs in jackets. For some reason they’re everywhere this week.”
You laugh. “You send me every single one.”
His cheeks color again. “Sorry. I just thought you’d… like them.”
“I do. They’re cute.”
He risks a glance at you. “Good. I’d hate to annoy you.”
“You could never annoy me.”
He breathes out like that meant more than you realize.
You turn onto your street, the last stretch of the walk quiet but nice. Familiar. Warm. He keeps an eye out the whole time without making it obvious, stepping closer when someone brushes past too quickly, shifting to the outside of the sidewalk near traffic.
The little things he probably thinks you don’t notice.
You slow to a stop in front of your building. He does too, hands still in his pockets, eyes soft.
“Well,” he says, “this is you.”
“This is me.”
He nods like he’s confirming it for himself. “Thanks for letting me walk you.”
You smile. “Thanks for asking.”
He looks down, then back up with that gentle bravery he only gets when he’s around you. “You’ll text me when you’re inside?”
“I will. And you text me when you get home.”
He nods. “Yeah. I will.”
You open the door, stepping inside the entryway. Before it closes, he calls softly:
“Goodnight.”
Your heart trips.
“Goodnight, Clark.”
He stands there for a second longer, like he wants to say something else but decides against it. Then he gives you one more small, warm smile and starts walking down the block.
You watch him go.
Then close the door and text him like you promised.
A minute later, your phone buzzes.
Home. Thanks for letting me walk you. Get some rest.
You smile at your screen.
Sweet boy.
@uzmacchiato for the dividers!
Also, I kinda hate this, but I haven’t written anything in a long time so… I guess it’s expected.
have you seen the new pictures from his hearing? He looks so good 🫣
Yess, he looks so handsome. He looks more like a dilf now if I’m being honest, but I’m definitely not mad about it 😋 but I miss his longer hair, I don’t like his short curls 😣
