Zara sips her drink slowly, downing a good portion of the beverage in ONE go. She’s in desperate need of some release, & she’s certain she’ll find it. For the moment, all she needs is to loosen up. Her guard is always up until she melts them down like this.

The vampire watches with lifted eyebrows as she casually throws back the vast majority of her drink. Not like most people he’d see in bars -- good. Vlad sips his drink just to wet his throat; the sound of her pulse drumming in his ears is internally driving him insane. God, he was fucking thirsty.

Well, that’s a good sign right there.  No red pupils anymore.  Hopefully it’ll stay like that.  He’d rather not die today or any day soon.  Whatever it takes to keep him alive he’ll do, even if it means having an almost normal conversation with something of the outside world instead of asking what it wants. He can do that.  He can most certainly do that.

“Is my neck provoking you, sir?  It’s been known to have quite the attitude.”

The vampire sighs quietly as his eyes slip shut. It’d been a few days since his last hunt and he’s really taking a risk, being as leisure as he was. Exhaling slowly, he curls and uncurls his fists before give a simple shrug of his shoulders.

Squinting warily at the man, Zara sits down beside him at the bar & orders her usual. A heavy-duty drink for such a small person. But Zara is unusually good at holding her alcohol. Once she’s ordered & received her drink, she looks over at the mystery man once more, eyes grazing over the glass in front of him.

Vlad’s eyes study Zara curious, lips squeezed into a thin line as his pointer finger trails along  the lip of his glass. Alcohol hardly phased him nor did it curb the thirst he truly felt. It was some- thing he did solely for the bar setting, if you will. Her question makes him chuckle gruffly, shoulders rolling as he shrugs.

Slightly thrown off his guard Ianto takes the tiniest step back.  Hands clenched together, teeth gritted, jaw clenched.  All his usual go to’s.  You’ve gotta be ready for anything.  “ Indeed I do.”

“I fear you’ve underestimated my abilities a bit, sir.  Wouldn’t make killing me easy for you.”

Zara goes home & gets ready for her date. When the time comes, she goes out to meet him. But a half hour into it, she walks out. He’s a TOTAL pig & though he’s attractive, it does not make up for his atrocious personality & people skills. Instead of returning home, she heads out to her favorite bar. Her cravings have returned & she knows she’ll find someone to go home with. It’s a lonely existence, being a  s i r e n  these days. So she’s thankful for the alcohol. It numbs her up quite a bit, but not so much that she misses the appearance of the strange man from before.

An unsuccessful hunt, as was to be EXPECTED. Damn, his day was taking a turn for the worst. Vlad finds himself sitting in a rather crowded bar, eyes  shut tightly. There was always something about intoxicated humans; the alcohol almost made their blood sweet, not to mention they were always too drunk to ever put up a fight. Easy kill. As the dry heat in his throat intensifies, Vlad sighs as a familiar voice pierces his ears; red pupils bore down into the table for two seconds before he manages to look up with soft, green irises. Maybe if he got her drunk enough, she’d be dinner tonight.

“You wouldn’t be the first something else I’ve dealt with.”

“You’re not human.  You’re… something else.”
