Mads Mikkeslen: The first scene with Jude, in the restaurant. These are people who has a very strong past, a very painful past and they somehow can not get rid of each other. They need each other and they wanna get rid of each other. We played it as two human beings tha had had exacty that: a painful and beautiful and powerful past. And then the wizard part came later, we didn't think too much about that. It was always in our backhand if we needed it but there is a truth who meet in a neutral area and there's indication of them having a hard time letting each other go.

David Yates: I'm not sure if Grindelwald still feels the same way, if he still has that commitment to Dumbledore as he did when they were young men. I don't know. It's hard to read Grindelwald sometimes. In my own head I like to think that he still feels that very strong bond towards him. I think the way Mads plays that character it's wonderful and it's within his nature to be a user, I guess, in that sense.
