That’s surprising. Is that on purpose- do you…not want orders? Or give orders? I can…if you want to give orders or something, I can…you know? Oh I can definitely make cookies for you. For us, I mean. Hah, that’s a good point. For the most part…? I’m not free tonight but tomorrow early afternoon, we can definitely get together. 

In a way I do, but I also kinda like having autonomy over my free time. I’m making it more complicated than I need to honestly. I haven’t given any orders. I feel like I should give it a try. So I am putting you under orders for tomorrow night if that’s okay. Oh, no. I meant I would make the cookies and you would try them.

Good girl. Tell me more about what you bake.

I make these gooey caramel brownies that are to die for. Beyond that, are you looking for something specific?

Really? You don’t like-…you’re not busy with orders all the time? That’s pretty surprising. I’m not sure if I like twizzlers. I try not to eat candy or things that can get stuck in teeth, I’m not a fan of dentists or doctors. Their offices, I mean- not them, them as people are fine, I think. Are you okay? Has it…been a lot for you? 

No, I don’t really get orders too much. I think it’s cause I stick to myself a lot of the time and don’t draw attention to myself. Okay, more twizzlers for me. What about trying a new cookie recipe for me? I don’t think anyone is a fan of them. I really tried not to think about it but for the most part I’m fine. Anyway back to the exhibit. Are you free tonight?

Oh- I…didn’t really consider that. That’s a cool perspective, yeah, I’ll keep it in mind. Okay! I can do that! When are you free? I know there’s more of the retreat tomorrow, I think…I might show up to some of the workshops. But after, maybe? If you’re not busy, I mean, it’d be cool to get together and check out the exhibit. It’s cool. I can tell you the fun facts I was told by the guide I had. They don’t always put that stuff online. Uh- yeah, I think so. Sorry, I know so. 

I’m pretty much free all the time to be honest. After would be perfect. I’m excited for this. Do you like twizzlers? Alright, I just wanted to make sure. I know the last week or so has been a lot for everyone.

Uh, yeah, a little. I’m awkward so…friends are a little hard to come by. Real friends, anyway, people who wanna do stuff like learn how to skateboard or talk about MOMA. Not just people who say hey in passing. I’m okay, yeah, I am. I think I am, anyway. 

I feel like everyone’s a little awkward in their own way. Some people just hid it better than others. Speaking of, you really need to show me that virtual exhibition you were talking about before. You think?

Yeah? Well it’s good to know I’ve still got it then…haven’t lost my touch too much.

Ah, so that was your plan all along? I’m almost ashamed I played right into your hands. 

PRIVATE:

Well, I may call other people pretty or beautiful but with you it’s more than just a surface level kind of thing. Don’t get me wrong, of course you’re beautiful on the surface —stunning in fact— but there’s more to you than that.

PRIVATE:

If you’re trying to sweet talk me, it’s working.

Maybe, but with you it’s completely different.

What, really? That’s awesome, Astrid. Thanks, this is…just awesome. Are you doing okay and everything? I know this last week has been pretty crazy. Last month, really. I wonder if it’ll ever be calm, actually.
